essex senior res leaguey

Recommended Posts

Runwell haven't missed a training session in 2 seasons Enrico (even trained in the snow) and i know we weren't the only team to do so. It's a shame you won't play Olympian sides because I think you wouls be surprised at the level of some of the teams. Castle United and Old Southendians for example play great football. It also speaks volumes that a small village club like Runwell we can attract the likes of Redbridge and Canvey Island for pre season friendlies

Nothing personal mate as I said it comes from personal experience and frankly I wasn't impressed from what I have seen.Just an opinion and of course there could be exceptions.Going back to the topic I believe it's great to see most of the ESL sides and some Ryman creating our own reserves section. It make sense to me.

coachy , i believe our ressies are thinking of moving to the EOL from the Capital League. The capital league has been nothing but bother this year , and they went 6-7 weeks at a time with no games . Also it has been hard for the manager to find players who want to play solely on Wednesday nights. Regular Saturday games would help him attract more players.

Then read the small print mate because you won't be able to play your first team players needing a game in there. We applied as well and guess what they asked us?Where you gonna get the players from? You didn't have a reserves side........fecking flipping Leaguestupid.gifThe reason we want a reserves side is because we have 4 Alliance sides and plenty of players that can't get a game and we want them to come through. The bottom line is you'll find a lot of existing Olimpian clubs are opposed to ressies side coming into their League because they might prevent them from getting promoted like happened with Romford ressies and rightly so.

Personally i have no problem with ESL reserve sides coming in, even though it was my team that suffered because of it. If a team is good enough they will beat them anyway. Take a look at where ESL reserve sides finished last year and you'll see they didn't actually set the league alight. The more the merrier in my book

Agreed, you only have to look at where Bowers & Sawbo's reserves are at the moment.

The fact Hullbridge are not bottom of the league gives you an indication of how bad some of the teams are now cheesy%20(2).gif

You couldn't even get in the bottom 2 side!!! Southminster here we come....dance%20(2).gif

I couldn't get in? LOL :97:

Does it upset you that the only thing Hullbridge will ever win is the "fair play award" and the only thing you will ever win individually is the record for the highest turnover of assistant managers in ESL history.

Be honest and admit it.You had more ESL clubs than Tom Dockerty had in the Premiership years ago.You have been at Stansted,Burnham(weakest link ),Concord (a token presence when you nearly [****!!****] it up their season with one game against Hullbridge),Bowers(twice and lost the place to a young keeper). We even showed compassion and signed you for the mighty Bridge Boys but being second choice to Richard Mann was too much to bear and went home sulking saying everyone you were too good to sit on the bench.I wanna see with that bunch of ESL rejects what you are gonna say them when you leave someone out:mate when I played for the Ramblers I was second choice to the worse ESL keeper so if I could do it then you can do it as well!lol You failed miserably that's the truth but I still love yougrin.gif

I think Smallsy is suggesting that Enrico's "assistants" don't last very long.

Haha That was a bigger bite then I expected! Most of it complete nonsense apart from the fact I was a token part of the Concord team, the weak link in the Burnham side and generally a failure

Not sure what you are talking about with regards to Bowers. Think you have been misinformed. :332:

At least when you retire from management you can be sure you will be remembered for running your mouth on forums and making a nice lasagne. Shame none of it will be with regard to any actual achievement. To be fair you made the Essex Senior Cup quarter finals 2 years ago (you wont let anyone forget that) and beat Stansted. Congrats. Something to write home to Italy about for sure :97:

I know you are deeply hurt and going into management at 25 is something you had never contemplated. It must have been a nightmare hanging those boots up but I do hope you'll recover from it and be stronger. You'll really need it to manage Southminster.

Hookey the longest serving ESL manager only had Steve for 3-4 seasons and John in the last couple of seasons. The rest were not even on the match programmesgrin.gif

Essex & Herts and Capital all failed because of the costs involving it plus the standard were questionable at times. The EOL is not viable because you can't play your first team players in here so I do really believe the ESL section looks like the only one that makes sense and ticks a lot of boxes.Really looking forward to the meeting.

The last time they tried to run an ESL Reserve League it was a disaster, with only 6 teams. Maybe now there is no Essex, Herts and Bordering Counties Combination League it will be more successful. I thinks it's a great idea.

I believe that last time there was an ESL reserve league the Hullbridge side, managed by Bowers coach Gary Morris, won the Reserve league cup. To this day that is the only piece of silverware in the Hullbridge cabinet making Gary Morris the most successful senior manager of a Hullbridge Sports side. He will go down in Hullbridge folklore for his achievements on the pitch, not in the kitchen. Just saying.
