H/T & F/T 12th April

stoppage time egham 1 sandhurst 1

A flower in the desert. Luke Muldowney scored in the 91st minute off a John Pomroy header, after a decidedly iffy penalty award. See, I can say that and hope I don't get shot down 'cos Terry Collina as good as said so in an earlier post. Brilliant save by Justin Gray from Vinnie Bond, the man whose dive won the penalty he then scored. We played a whole lot better than at Croydon and got the equaliser by doing a Baker, namely throwing forwards at the problem.

Justin Gray made a worldy with 10 to go keep Egham in the game and just before the equaliser, our goalie made a great save as well which looked like it might earn us the points, but for the last 10 mins or so we did not defend well and paid the penalty.

Was definately not a dive TW, the two players tangled and as I said one of those you see them given and see them not given. The referee and the assistant would have got a black mark from the assessor over the way the decision was given though.

Badshot Lea: 3

Cove: 2

Badshot had to replace a couple of players (including keeper) within 30 minutes and were 2-1 down at half time. They came back well in 2nd half. Thought Cove deserved something out of the match though.

OOOPS !

And Knaphill creeping up into fifth!! Interesting final month coffee%20%282%29.gif

Are Knaphill able to be promoted if they finish in the top 3?

Not sure what the league stance would be regarding whether the lights were completed on time and if hardstanding is required?

Personally I would hope they are rewarded with promotion, if they do finish in the top 3, as they have had a fantastic 2nd half of the season.

I believe Trenty has said the rest of the hardstanding is to be completed in the summer. Regarding the floodlight situation, they might be willing to be generous as hese I remember were delayed a couple of times due to the snow then the flooding from it melting and the heavy rain that followed and I think they put it off to save any damage on the pitch.

Whoever goes up, it'll be interesting from here on in coffee%20%282%29.gif

I'd love to tell you the score of our reserve game but for some reason we were scheduled a 6-30 game away at hounslow 2nd week of April and by the time I let in the 3rd it was pitch black

I do wonder sometimes who exactly puts some of these fixtures together! Some of them I know can't be helped but they do need looking at, especially with the poor traffic in rush hour time getting increasingly bad!!

That's not me being disrespectful to Whitelaw or anyone else, as I do appreciate their efforts and time they put into everything CCL related, just a point

Cobham 3-1 South Park

Young fit Cobham side were bang up for it from the first till the last whistle, we went in 1-0 up through a cross dropped into his own net by the Cobham keeper ( which was his only mistake and made some vital saves ). But could of been 4-4, second half it was the turn of the Park defence/keeper to make the mistakes and the impressive Baxter took advantage. Cobham got the deserved 3 points and cant blame it on a poor performance as we played quite well, speaking to a few of there players and said its was the best they've played all season and a shame they haven't been able to keep to that level of performance.

I would think not Daniel - the Ground Grading (G) is required by 31st March and I reckon someone on here would have posted by now if they had passed the relevant inspection....

In reply to the statement about an early evening kick-off at CB Hounslow, I would explain that prior to yesterday evening, CB Hounslow Reserves were left with six reserve matches still to play, due to both repeated weather postponements earlier in the season and a long run in the Middlesex Junior Cup. As I said on a different thread, any postponed matches at clubs without lights generally have to wait until April to be re-scheduled and with all available Saturdays having been used up for either their 1st or reserve team, I had no option but to start using midweek dates. Westfield were a little unlucky in that they got the "first one" and I understand that it causes frustration, hence the fact that we are pushing for Div 1 clubs to get lit up sooner rather than later.

Also, in Westfield's case, I was asked to get all their home matches in by 31 March due to the re-building work going on in the summer, a knock-on effect being that they had more away games left to fulfil after 31 March than might otherwise have been the case.

We used to have considerably more early kick-offs at the end of the season than we do now and I have seen other leagues start them as early as the last week of March. I do my best to avoid them as far as possible but I'm not able to get rid of them completely as yet, although I have cut them out completely at the start of the season.
