I really wanted to give my player of the season vote to welford or ball or pinns or cloke. But i have to concede Curtis has won in by a mile, consistant, reliable, hard working, always in the mix, deserves my vote...

I'd like to echo those words if I may Mark.

Excellent news and richly deserved.

Interesting that it is a 2 year contact-maybe a bit of medium term planning for once !!

That given-as GT implies-i hope Curtis has played his last game in a Margate shirt already-and in fact this contract is a precursor for a league club swooping with a fee of £100000 for Curtis and straight into the clubs coffers.

Whenever that happens-and in this instance i genuinely think it is when and not if, as Curtis is young enough to still be improving,at least this time Margate football club should also see some financial benefit.

So does the panel think there are any other players who should be put on a two year contract.

Unlike many-i would be giving most of the current squad a contract for next year-i do think they are good enough.

However, not too sure if there are too many who i would give a two yesr contract to-for that they need imo to be quite young and have plenty of potential to improve-whereas most of the squad are probably just about at their peak.(cloke, hill, ball wilson, etc. )

Like Joseba says,CR did receive early critcism and has improved.

The only other player for me who possibly falls into that category is Groombridge-young enough and who does seem to be getting better every game.

I'd keep Curtis, Ball, Cloake, Groombridge, Bradbrook, Hill(if he can get over injuries) Welford and wait for it Wilson who improved towards the end. Also Miler, young and improving should be given a chance in the squad, By naming these it dos'nt mean they would all play every game but they are good enough to keep in the squad. We need a good bench from which to change things. Now all we need is another six to make selection interesting. I do believe we need a more decisive keeper, who gives the defenders more confidence in him, good wingers and a commanding mid-fielder. Easy, now all that is needed is a manager who can do it all for as little as possible.

He has been an insparation as Reserve captain this season, and I believe deserves his chance in the first team for the remainder of it
