Art critic gives his verdict on Turner Contemporary. And if you can't be bothered to read it all the last two words are white elephant.

' White Elephant ' ? Well that makes 2 ' White Elephants ' on the seafront now - 1 Tall and 1 Squat.

Obviously not such a good ' trumpet blowing ' exercise then.

Reality bites... We've got it so don't knock it.

Perhaps the Club can offer them some outside exhibition space, the town can have a Turner Trail then. Joint ventures and all that,.Bar open for drinks and food & souvenirs Worth looking at you never know it could be another revenue source.

Dave, thought I was the most optimistic on here...you win!

When you get a once in a lifetime permanent happening then opportunity knocks even for what might appear to be off the wall ideas.

Eternal optimist

Just saw on Meridian News that it will cost £2m a year to run. How much more appealing could you make the town centre or seafront with that sort of money?

BREAKING NEWS - Just had a phone call from a friend asking if I had heard the news on the radio.

It appears (i have not heard it myself) that someone has got on the roof of the Turner Centre (ooops Turner Contemporary or something similar)

and written LADIES and GENTS on them . . . Not condoning graffiti, but it did make me laugh!

If it was ever true, it's not there now! But it did make me laugh when I was told about it .
