Kit for next season.

A bit of an old chestnut of mine, but i am sure the kit/maufactures etc is up for renewal.

Hopefully this gives scope for a bit of a change.

Accepting that it comes down to funding-and thus we are never going to have the sexiest kit in terms of design, i simply hope that MORE WHITE will be incorporated into the kit next season.

Yes-we will always be the 'blues',but surely a bit more white would not go amiss.

In fact-i am sure all our woes` commenced when we incorpoated a mainly blue kit.

Would love to go back to the previous years when there was more white in it (even if its just white socks and the odd flash of white here and there)

Would love to suggest we should have a main kit, away kit -and a CUP KIT (three sponsorship opportunities) but i guess we all know that the cup kit would not have many outings as usual- miauow

Totally agree Michael.

My choice would be to add a large single white hoop/band across a blue shirt and revert to white socks. The "new" away kit should be an exact replica of the 1935 kit (you may have seen it on that Palace video clip) black shirts with an amber band and white shorts. The third kit could be all white with a multi-coloured band. Six in total, green, lime green, blue, yellow, maroon, black. Most second kit colours over the last 50 years

Why not blue and white shirts in the old style, blue shirts with white sleeves and collar, white shorts and blue and white hooped socks. This is very similar to the old fifties style kit and as a change kit I would go for the amber & black kit that we had a couple of seasons back with black and amber hooped socks. If it is deemed necessary or useful to have a third strip I would go with JJ's 1935 kit.

One further point - why don't we have a new goalkeeper strip of green (or yellow) jersey, black shorts and same collar socks as the outfielders?

Just my opinion but I am not really keen on the amber - prefer the black and white? yellow jersey for the keeper rather than green? I quite like the gold though :-)

What was the year when we had an all blue shirts and shorts, but with white across the shoulder blades-like epaulettes. (early seventies ? )

Made the team look like American footballers-but also gave the impression the guys were biggger than what they were.

(did we have red in the socks on that kit as well ?)

As worn by one of our youth teams and the first photo on todays news feature on the main site !!

Does that look both smarter and more 'businesslike' with a bit of white in it ?

Kit change is indeed due - both home and away - on which more over the coming weeks. Just bear in mind that a manufacturers / suppliers deal, design and main sponsors have to be sorted out in relation to shirts although all this work is underway. As for timelines for all this, it's currently looking like the middle of the close season.

Sounds good-not sure if i will be able to sleep at night in anticipation of an incy wincy bit of extra white creeping into the kit-even if its just white socks.

I'll probably be disappointed-but for me-that bit of white stremlines things and makes the players look more like athletes-mean and hungry

Jaccetts are doing the kit again and with chris kinnear back in charge its like 1998 all over again :applaus:

Don't know where you got this from but no decision has yet been taken on our kit supplier for next season. When a decision has been reached, it will be annojnced first on the official website.

I'm still fantasising about the possible prospect of white socks.

Is this fantasy (fettish) going to be revealed or is it going to be the subject of a Super Injunction?

Cannot say, cannot even confirm they even exist even if they did exist one would have to deny it.
