Great performance

Great result

Great support

Great atmosphere

What a difference from Saturday. Excellent strikes from Flanners and 'H', well done to all.

Just one more hurdle, play-offs and promotion.

Come on you Blues, you can do it.

It's always great to see an early goal and Adam Flanagan's was superb !! Probably the earliest goal scored by Billericay since Greg Allen many years ago.

I thought the whole team played really well and lifted their game. A much better spectacle than last Saturday and to be fair Aveley worked hard and had a few chances but we always looked in control. A real shame that Ced couldn't get the goal he deserved, he worked his socks off.

A really good crowd and great atmosphere - bit of a shame the caterers were taken by surprise !!!

Four more cup finals to go now to get into those playoffs.

Wow, if the support and atmosphere last night was great, I'd love to see how quiet it is when it's poor!!!

Well done on the win, fully deserved and you were in control throughout. When I look at your side on paper you've got one of the best in the Prem, and the gap in class told last night. Your defence looked very solid, with Greg Oates looking particularly impressive against Orlando Smith. As for Harrison Chatting, he's a class player who looks better and better everytime I see him.

I thought that if we played up to our ability and worked hard we would have too much for Aveley and so it proved.

The early goal settled us down well and we completely dominated the first half. A "typical" H goal for the second.

Second half we kept on working hard and closed the game out well, despite the ref who only seemed to be giving decisions their way. Aveley tried hard but we were too good for them.

A massive well done to Craig, Steve, Rambo and all the playing squad who worked really hard for the win. It's taken 13 years as a supporter to see us win something and I'm well chuffed.

Come on you Blues!!!

Fantastic and memorable night for all involved with Billericay Town, a thoroughly well deserved win!

The support from us i thought was absoulutely incredible, so thank you to every single fan that made the effort aNd made the night all the more memorable for myself and many others i can imagine!

Now we have another 4 cup finals to win like richards said, and this cup win can surely only give us more belief that we can do it, the morale must be sky high within the team and i can only hope that we can see this produce more positive displays.

Well done to the supporters, the management team and all the players of Billericay Town, i think we all showed just how passionate we are last night!

COME ON YOU BLUES!!! :applaus:

What a difference from Saturday from both teams. Town were well worth the win and it was a great team performance all round. Special mention for Nicky Morgan who has deputised well for Ashley and made three important saves, despite Town being in the ascendancy.

Last night should have pleased " the any win will do brigade" and those of us who like to see good football.

Great turn out on the evening but it would be nice to see some of the "glory hunters" back down at New Lodge on those cold winter Tuesday nights !!!

Well done to the Chairman, Management and Players.

What a night!!!!

When i arrived at the ground i was confident that we could go all the way, but there are always those situations going through your head coming up to kick - off, but then Flanners just put us in control and we never looked back!

Agree with the comments about Nicky Morgan, he made quite a few what some people would say comfortable saves, and a couple of top class ones aswell but he was in fine form last night and helped hugely to our success!

the whole club deserve last night, there are many fans out there that have been following us through thick and thin, hot and cold days, being at the top and the bottom, and i for one would love to be able to follow every week (mileage stops that) but for the people that were there last night, who might not go week in week out, one comment from a supporter i heard was ' this must help the players'. if we could get atleast half of last night support back for the final push and on into next season it will give everyone around the club massive confidence of success!

Last nigt made my 300 odd mile round trip all the more easier winning!!!

A win like this picks everyone up and not just the win...they style in which we won. The best performance all season. An assured performance from everyone where we dominated in all areas...

Well done to Craig and his management team as well as the players. If we play with the same belief in our last four league games...we'll have no worries regarding a play off place.

Top performance, top game...

Our first major trophy since 1980, which was our first season in the Isthmian League...who knows, perhaps we'll bookend our stay in this league and this season be our last...

Agree with the above. Excellent display last night, both on and off the pitch. The early goal helped the game as I think there was more goalmouth action in the first half than there was in both League games combined.

We were the better side from start to finish but special mention for Morgan who did make a couple of great saves, one right at the death especially springs to mind and Big Ced who didn't stop running all game.

If we can take that level of performance into the remainder of the league season, maybe we could make it 6 more 'cup finals' this season rather than 4.

COYB!

Just read the Essex FA report which is good and fair. But I was staggered by the statistic at the bottom which said the attendance was only 547 !!!!! Who are they kidding. We sit at New Lodge having a bet on the crowd size ( the football is not always as riveting as last night !!) and even manage to count them sometimes ! Even then when we get say 400 announced we swear somebody has double vision.

My guess was around 1000 last night so my street cred has been demolished ( unless there were a huge number of non-paying guests last night.) Do we get a share of the gate?

Where did that strike from Flanners come from?! And the ball from cousins onto Flanners nut, we aint seen that before this season! There's nothing like a bit of silverware to get people buzzing again and hopefully it'll re-ignite some re-newed passion for this club. 5/600 looked about right and I always think that the attendances at New Lodge are spot on!

Nice touch from Edwards to dedicate the win to supporters and hopefully this'll spur us on to victory on Saturday. Congrats to all, we are officially the best side in Essex, FACT!

"we are officially the best side in Essex, FACT! " < Love it.

I'd like to once again thank Izzy & Steve for introducing me to "the club" and Billericay Town FC.

Last night even surpassed my night at the squatters in the playoff's where we also won that night.

I normally worry myself sick before big games so i can only imagine how everyone else, players included must have felt.

I'm a very proud Blue's Fan today.

Nice to see Big Bertha on display again.

WELL DONE EVERYONE. applaus.gif applaus.gif applaus.gif

Very enjoyable and emotional evening. Well done the whole club. From the Chairman, Management, Players and all those involved getting the team prepared for the game.

For me there were two highlights:

The supporters were immense. I think we benefited greatly from some hardened supporters taking time out of thier busy working day to get on it early and provide the vocals. It made for a great atmosphere and the feeling there were double the amount of the official attendance.

The football was a technical improvement. I personally think the team are technically better than the level they have performed at. In the games I have watched recently they have appeared to lack the attacking play on the ball and often we have come down a footballing level to accomodate the opposition. The refs have also been too whistle happy.

I love to see full backs and players get wide to create play. Wide men taking on players with passing interplay. It creates chances and we created them in the Final. There is little time allowed on the ball but we can more than match any team on the physical level and when we do let the opposition through we have solid keepers in Nick & Ashlee.

So now we move on to the 'Play Off' contention. Can we reproduce this type of performance or grind out results to see us through. That I guess is one for the Manager and Players to decide.

But come what may I will still enjoy coming down to the New Lodge to watch the game and a pint and will have the memory of the night in Thurrock.

Cheers All.

What is it about Monday nights ! And what a night it was .

The team looked eager and definately were pumped up for it and they really looked like they were enjoying themselves out there . Not a lot more can say as the team and management deserve their moment of glory and to be the winners of the Essex Cup is really an achievement considering the amount of teams that participate . Craigs first season and a trophy ! Well done Craig and the lads . I would imagine the chairman is chuffed too , as he and all the folk not seen deserve this .

Congrats !!

Top afternoon/night .
