COACH TRAVEL NEXT SEASON

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some feedback regarding the Coach Travel for next season.Quite a lot of you have commented on the coaches this season but I need feedback from more of you regarding away travel.I am torn between letting the club sort the travel out or just doing fans only travel. Most peoples objections are about the time we leave and come back,I will struggle to get to most games next season leaving when we do and coming back when we do and others have said similar to that.Sometimes we are struggling to get double figures of fans on the coaches even on Saturdays and when on the odd occasion the coach is full there have been problems with noise etc

Any feedback welcome

Getting to the away ground so early and leaving so late usually means spending a lot of time in the bar which all adds to the price of the day out. Not a good deal in these staightened times. Means a game can cost up to £40, even for me as a concession and shows how much I drink.

Paying a bit more for the coach but meaning we can leave later and get home earlier would even things out.

I've been happy with this season's arrangements. By leaving early on a saturday it gives fans time to build up to kick off and if there is suddenly heavy traffic we still get there before time. If we looked into fans only coaches again we would run the risk of pulling out on some games due to low numbers. I would rather know I was on a coach for a saturday game and leaving at a certain time, whenever that is. Mid week games will always be more difficult to organise, but I thought the minibus idea to Hendon was good and would be interested in this again.

I have only ever been on two away trips, Canvey last season, and Carshalton this season, in my opinion, the fans only one was better, but I guess Canvey is a good away day. As for the Carshalton one, I only travelled to the ground, we stayed out after the game and headed into Sutton.

Not sure of the finances, but would it be an idea if the club loaned the Supporters Club the funds (or part of) to buy a 16-20 seater, although I'm not sure if that would be a money saver in the long run as it would still need to be insured, taxed, fuelled and a driver hired for away trips, but the plus side is that the Supporters Club would have their very own mini bus, of course, if there are more than a regular 20 who go on the coaches, then the idea of our own minibus would be pointless.

Not too sure the club has funds available for a mini bus,the supporters association don't.

Problem being that if we get a mini bus,the players still need to get there.I actually think the players should have a regular minibus and fans and non playing staff either a coach or 29 seater
