Does anybody know factual how much players say that can perform in the Conferance South command. I would be interested (the answer how long is a piece of string is NOT an answer) Cause on arealistic note again maybe if we get our heads around what do we need to financial support success it may help us to understand better the issues raised.

Yes i know money can't guarantee success but i think it may help.

For example not based on any knowledge if you say a player is on £500 a week (inclusive of NI & Taxes) and you want a squad of say 18, well that simple makes £9000 per week.

Over a season of say 36 weeks is £324,000 plus Managment & staff. Do you see where i'm heading, if these figures are what are required for promotion, then we may all have to pitch in more to make it happen.

Thoughts please.

SIMPLE

But is it that simple is it not Chicken & Egg, get the players who can perform at a higher level, to attract more through the gate. Thus more expenditure required up front.

More people thru the gates - need I say more :)

Sorry put my chicken & egg response in wrong bit. And too add to what we have just said about number through the gate, using the example for this exercise if you use my figures of £324,00 how may many would we need through the gates. 21 home games @ avg £7.00 per head would need 2204 people each home game. Is that likely at Ryman or Conf South level.

Apparently Dover range from £350 - £900

A colleague of mine was on loan/work placement there up until about 3 weeks ago

So would that suggest an average of £500 seems about right

Cliff Egan told me (with some annoyance I might add) that Harrow Boroughs average wage was £50 - £100. Trouble is we are in a crap area to travel to hence some of the big wages the club has been shelling out. However I know Kane Harrington was on a play for no pay basis and really just wanted a chance. Other players (local i.e. Dan langiano) might be on a pay as you play, which ever way you look at it the budget for this season was up there with the Conf South wages and probs more - it dont always make a "TEAM".:frown:

So here's a suggestion i'd throw into the debate. If MFC employed a driver say £75 for each trip. Could they use the mini bus to collect and take back players on training days and home matches. Would the maths work out to MFC benefit, also taking the issues of players using own vehicle and hassle of travelling to and from. Would this help attract the right players?

So when are the fixtures out ?

As the thread suggests-the season has whimprered out from back in October really-no wonder attendances are down.

That given-its a luxury really to be basking in the sunlight not fretting about relegation for a change so i won't knock it at all-the lack of worry has probably extended my lifespan by a couple of years.

As i post above-only about 13 weeks to the pre-season friendlies and fixtures normally out mid july-a week later.

As i missed out last year on a nice trip-i'm simply hoping we get Lowestoft away again (don't think they will quite make promotion ) in an early season fixture

Back to the debate about is it just getting more people through the turnstiles. If you look at the Conference south bottom 6 (you could argue this is why they are in the bottom 6)

There attenadances aren't a million miles from ours

St Albans Lowest gate 142 Highest Gate 490 Avg Gate over season at home 327

Maidenhead Lowest gate 116 Highest Gate 515 Avg gate over season at home 311

Lewis Lowest gate 66 Highest gate 1326 Avg gate over season at home 643

Thorrock Lowest gate 152 Highest gate 644 Avg gate over season at home 296

Bishop Stortford Lowest gate 217 Highest gate 648 Avg gate over season at home 410

Boreham Wood Lowest gate 105 Highest gate 379 Avg gate over season at home 217

I think most of appreciate the turnstiles is not where the money is, and i'm sure this is an issue that Cliff is trying to address with the many initiatives going on.

Don't quite know what this proves if anything, i was just curious so had to look at it..
