CRAIG BRADSHAW

But why are Keepers a special case, most teams have cover for every position bar a Goalkeeper? Why are keepers a special case,on what grounds.

Possibly because they don't normally play in any other position and therefore sub keepers rarely get "20 minute" run outs to keep them sharp or to give them match minutes. Very hard to keep 2 "quality" keepers happy - you need a reserve team playing on a different day else how does the 2nd keeper keep his sharpness up?

It's difficult, I agree but thats no excuse, it's all about 'management', as I said a promising youngster would have been my choice, there are plenty of senior sides who in recent years have allowed a youngster a loan or dual registration to gain experience, crawley, croyd ath, afc, to name a few, and if i had been the manager I would have had that sorted months ago.

It's a mangers failing and that is not what that clause is all about, it STINKS !!!!!!!!!!

Have to agree with Spy, if I was Guildford or even Camberley I would be complaining and complaining. I get where you are coming from GF but they should have made allowances for this by signing a second keeper to cover all eventualities, even more so as they are in the hunt for the championship. Is poor management by CT and shouldn't have been allowed by league. It is a massive oversight on the clubs part but they have been allowed to get away with it. I could understand if they had 2 keepers signed on both injured and no youth team to call on. For me they should have been told to play their youth keeper, he is part if the club and signed on for the club. I find it hard to believe that Guildford and Camberley won't have formally complained about this.

JACK TALBOT was in goal for Chertsey today,on loan from Hampton and Richmond did o.k.Weeble had inside info hence the J.T. post

Hate to be pedantic - but it was JOE Talbot

Joe started the season in Hampton's Ressies....got into the 1st Team when Matt Lovett suffered injury.

Then Joe suffered injury himself - and by the time he recovered Matt was back in goal.

All in all has been a bit of a frustrating season for him.

Good to see he started with a clean sheet

ITS OBVIOUS THAT CHERTSEY / CHERTSEYTOWN HAS A CONNECTION WITH HAMPTON & RICHMOND BY GETTING PLAYERS ON LOAN FROM THEM THIS AND SEASONS GONE...........INTERESTING !

SORRY, I HAVE TO AGREE THAT ITS BAD MANAGEMENT NOT HAVING A NUMBER 2. BY NOT HAVING A NUMBER 2 BRADSHAW PLAYED THE REST OF THE GAME INJURED, SO HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT EXTRA DAMAGE THAT CAUSED THE FELLA. DIDN'T ONE OF THE PLAYERS WANT TO GO IN GOAL ?

MAYBE PLAYING THE AMOUNTS TO OTHER PLAYERS, THERE WAS NO MORE MONEY AVAILABLE FROM CHERTSEYTOWNS BUDGET TO GET ANOTHER KEEPER ?........IF SO THAT'S BAD MANAGEMENT.

I SUGGEST CHERTSEY GET A RESERVE TEAM NEXT SEASON, THEN THE RESERVE KEEPER CAN GO IN GOAL FOR 1ST TEAM AND THE YOUTH KEEPER THEN PLAYS FOR THE RESERVES WHERE HE WOULD GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE IF MANAGED WELL.

Hello Mr The Fan

So if the final score was Raynes Park Vale 0 Chertsey Town 0 how did he let in 2 goals and lose ?

or were the 2 goals conceded during the pre-match warm up - or did Joe play a game last night ? he didn't mention it when I saw him !

I think at this level its hard to get a back up keeper, who wants to sit on the bench for maybe month, 2 months or a season. If the hasn't got a ressies aswell its worse. Unless you were getting paid good dollar to sit on the bench.

If there is no money in the budget then how would they finance a reserve side for something like £2K to £3K a year? Would that not be bad financial management! Is that not confusing?

It all depends on what the reserves can produce for the 1sts ie a couple of players a year helping save on any player purchase fee.... It also gives a natural flow from youth / u16's into senior football and if any of those move on for money it can pay fot itself very quickly.... I agree initially it will be an additional cost but long term it tends to even itself out.......

BENEFITS ARE LONGER TERM. I HAVE READ THE REPORT THAT MOLESEY MADE 9 (NINE) CHANGES AGAINST EGHAM WHICH INCLUDED RESERVES AND YOUTH PLAYERS ONE MUST ASSUME ?... AND WON 4-1 !!! - I ASSUME BY MAKING 9 CHANGES MANAGER50 OBVIOUSLY WANTED TO PROTECT AND REST HIS 1ST TEAM REGULARS FROM UNNECESSARY INJURY FOR THEIR SEMI-FINAL TOMORROW. IF THEY HAD NO RESERVES, THEY HAVE A SQUAD TO KEEP EVERYONE HAPPY BUT THESE PLAYERS WOULD HAVE PLAYED SATURDAY SO RUN THE RISK OF GETTING INJURED FOR A SEMI-FINAL.

SITUATIONS LIKE THIS SHOWS THEIR MANAGEMENT THAT RESERVE TEAM PLAYERS CAN SLOT IN AND DO AN THE JOB, INSTEAD OF GETTING EXPENSIVE PLAYERS ON LOAN, A COST SAVING. IT GIVES A FORSIGHT OF WHAT THE CLUB FUTURE IS LIKE.

I AGREE RESERVES COST MONEY, BUT ITS A CHANCE FOR YOUNGSTERS TO BREACH INTO SENIOR FOOTBALL AND IN TIME COULD BE GELLED INTO 1ST TEAM POTENTIAL PLAYERS.

CHERTSEYTOWN BUDGET IS FOR PLAYERS ONLY, THERE ARE OTHER SMALLER CLUBS (WITH RESPECT TO THOSE CLUBS) WHO HAVE RESERVES, SO I AM SURE THAT CHERTSEY COULD FIND THAT 2000-3000K IT WILL BE MONEY WELL SPENT. .

TAKE CRAIG BRADSHAW SITUATION WHO I'M SURE WAS ON DECENT MONEY. CHERTSEYTOWN HAS GONE AND GOT ANOTHER KEEPER FROM HAMPTON WHO IS PROBABLY ON A BIT, BUT IF CHERTSEY HAD RESERVES, THEIR KEEPER WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO PROVE HIMSELF AND BE GIVEN MUCH LESS MAYBE EVEN NOTHING WHICH IS CHEAPER THAN GETTING A KEEPER ON LOAN....THATS A COST SAVING....

FOOTBALL PEOPLE WEEBS !

YEP WILL BE AT LEATHERHEAD TOMORROW, HAVEN'T BEEN THERE FOR 2 SEASONS SO AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. MOLESEY WILL BE OUTGUNNED SUPPORTER-WISE WITH LEATHERHEAD AVERAGE @ 200/250 HOME GATE

I WONDER IF WE WILL SEE A DIFFERENCE IN STYLE OF FOOTBALL (PLEASE NO HOOF !), PHYSIQUE, DISCIPLINE AND PROFESSIONALISM BETWEEN THE 2 LEAGUES. ITS BEEN DOCUMENTED THE 2 TEAMS I HAVE SEEN MOST THIS SEASON IS CHERTSEY & MOLESEY AND BELIEVE MOLESEY MAY WELL SURPRISE ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WATCH CCL (IE) RYMAN SUPPORTERS. BOTH TEAMS ARE ON GOOD RUNS, SO WILL THE HIGHER LEVEL WIN ????

MMMNNNN RYMAN CAP OR CCL CAP TOMORROW...... IRRESPECTIVE LET'S HOPE FOR A GOOD GAME !
