CRAIG BRADSHAW

Recommended Posts

Sad to report that Craig was in A & E last night and has ruptured his achillies and is in plaster. He will require two operations later this week. It showed his character that he continued for 60 odd minutes yesterday as we have no other keeper. Everyone knows that we've had our moments with Bradders off the pitch but he has been one of the main reasons we are challenging for promotion and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Can you sign a replacement at this stage of the season or will you have to use your number 2 ? (not the best name for a keeper !)

Sorry to hear that but I have to say each time i have seen Craig this season he has got injured during the game and had to have someone else to kick the ball for him. Also a ruptured Achilles is a shocking injury that normally results in immediate attention required.

Whatever I hope Craig is up and about soon.

Sad news hope he recovers well and quickly. All the best Craig.

Will the league allow signing of another keeper? Surely they should have signed cover before deadline in case of emergencies like most if not all other clubs in league have. I know it is seen as a specialised position but can see Guildford rightly kicking up a fuss if allowed. I'm sure the guy who will be in goal when hall us suspended won't be as good as hall but they will have to play their back up or will they too ask to sign a

Tough one for the league maybe. We have two very good keepers and it can be hard trying to keep them happy. We also have two youth keepers and one has played a few games for us when the others were injured/suspended. Last season we signed a lad on dual registration at the start of the season and another just prior to the transfer deadline, although neither of them played for us, but we were covered just in case. If they manage to get a keeper from a higher league who is not getting games at his current club and he helps them come top, you could understand maybe that Guildford would be a bit miffed. Having said that, goalkeepers are often treated differently (you can't challenge them in the air for one thing!) so maybe there will be some allowance in this case, but there is certainly a grey area with this one.

GOOD call 50, they sign a keeper from a couple of steps above. but when the balls in the air we can smash him. now thats worth a NG cup.

UPDATE on Craig

I saw Craig yesterday and he is still in hospital. He was put in plaster on Sat and that looks like a mistake that worked in his favour as it found the main problem that was a 'compartment syndrome' wound in his leg. He has had two operations so far and they thankfully closed the wound yesterday with a massive amount of stiches. The positive news is that the achillies doesnt look as bad as was first thought and that the other injury masked the extent of the damage. He is waiting on the specialist but hopes to be allowed home tomorrow.

He does have internet access in hospital and is grateful for the nice comments made on this website and the best wishes sent by the League
