St Albans City 3 Bishop's Stortford 2

Funny old line up today, Derek Brown is away on business so Migsy was at centreback, Bazza in goal, midfield fairly normal, Nic and Tommo up front. New signing Martin Williams was on the bench with Pete Hanson and Jamie Parsons from the Ressies.

Even-stevens for the first 40 minutes, they made chances but contrived to miss them with some style. Penalty awarded for a pretty innocuous push, but then the Ref was like that all afternoon. Tommo scored to make it 1-0 at half-time.

Second half, not much to begin with, long balls over the top all the time, then a good through ball found McDOnnell (for once the lino kept his flag down) and he raced away and let fly from about 20 yards out. It was a cracker!

Stortford then came back and scored two good goals in about a minute but Wraighty belted one in on the half-volley with about 10 minutes to go. A good win but will have to do much better on Tuesday, passing it to a teammate would be a start!

MOM: The sponsors said De Souza but all the back four played well.

Team: White, Gledhill, Murray, Seeby, De Souza, Oakes, Graham(Williams), Castle(Parsons), McDonnell, Tomlinson, Wraight.

Note: all of the above is completely unofficial and may be totally inaccurate.
