Can't disagree with most of what's written re. Chertsey v Camberley. It wasn't great and we really didn't put enough pressure on the goalie during the second half. He couldn't kick the ball but we were walking away and allowing him to roll it out to his defenders.

I've just watched TRS' video of the game to see if our player was offside when he made the challenge with the goalie. At the time I didn't think he was but the people around me in the stand were all saying he was four yards off. Interesting to see the same thing was said over the other side of the ground. Sadly the video's inconclusive.

I missed all the nonsense at the end. I was in the bar but the ref played less than five minutes added on time second half, it may have been less than four. I've got a bad memory and I've forgotten but the stopwatch definitely said 48 or 49 minutes. I time the games for Twitter. In the first half there were six and a bit minutes added on.

I thought the ref was excellent yesterday. The Chertsey fans seemed to have more of an issue with him than us and even then it wasn't much.

Good luck to Chertsey or Guildford next season in the Zamaretto League.

Dorking 3 badshott 1 full time

Thanks for that KK. Why didn't you come and say 'hallo', or do I already know you?

ANYWAY: The 'Official' DFC match report:-

Dorking made it 7 points out of 9 with their third excellent performance against top 7 sides as they comfortably beat Badshot Lea on Saturday.

On top of the 1-1 draw at 4th placed Molesey last weekend and the storming 3-0 win over 7th placed Sandhurst in midweek, the win over 6th placed Bashot Lea made it a good 8 days for Peter Buckland’s team. The win was fully deserved, as in the Tuesday night win over Sandhurst Town, as Dorking could have made the win even more comprehensive, several chances going untaken as Badshot Lea struggled to contain a confident Dorking side.

Dorking were unchanged from the midweek win over Sandhurst, save for the absence of Dave McCann, Joe Chandler stepping up after injury to start for Chicks. Badshot Lea came into the game unbeaten in 4 games, but from the off Dorking were the side that looked in the ascendency, carrying on where they had left off against Sandhurst Town in midweek, giving their opponents no time on the ball as they pressed their opponents throughout.

Even though Dorking had the better of the opening half hour, it took Dorking until the 38th minute before the deadlock was broken. Craig Duffell, who was inspirational all afternoon in centre midfield, running the game for Dorking with real astuteness, played in the ever lively Leroy Hyett, Hyett driving towards the bye line, his cross/shot looping over the Badshot Lea keeper who could only really palm the ball into his net as he overstretched to try to clear the ball.

Dorking had controlled the first half, but two minutes from half time, a moment of switching off saw Badshot undeservedly back in the game, a Badshot forward surging through several tackles to shot powerfully home past an unsighted John McBride in the Dorking goal. 1-1 at half time was an unfair reflection on the game, Badshot only having one shot on target in the first half.

Dorking did not panic, and came out of the blocks fast after the interval. The impressive Hyett had already gone close before a Dorking corner saw the ball fall to Toby Fitzgibbon, his shot finding captain Dan Dunning in the 6 yard box, Dunning turning quickly to knock the ball home for 2-1.

Despite several stoppages for injury, Dorking did not let the stop start nature of the mid second half upset their stride. Dorking had several chances to make it 3-1, Luke Reid doing really well to chest down a Hyett cross on 62 minutes, the ball falling kindly for the Dorking winger, only for his lob shot to just clear the bar. That man Hyett did finally create Dorking’s third goal, his through ball seeing Billy Ramsey run on to the pass and slot the ball home for 3-1.

Badshot Lea are not a top 7 side for nothing, and they tried to press the game in the final 15 minutes, but Dunning at centre back was leading by example, Sam Sawyers even shrugging off a twisted ankle to carry on at the heart of the Dorking defence. As Badshot pressed, Fitzgibbon was moved back into midfield, his presence adding steel to the Dorking side, while this seemed to free up Duffell to really express himself. Buckland brought on youngsters Ryan Stewart and Ben Moses up front, and hard running by Stewart saw him create an opportunity for Moses, Moses’ shot just going over as Badshot Lea were stretched.

In goal, John McBride had one of his best games for a while, quick off his line with really safe hands especially as the game came to and end, and although Bashot tried to press, Dorking were in no mood to let their high flying opponents back into the game, Dorking deservedly winning the game to give themselves real optimism moving into the last 3 matches of the season.

Dorking face Mole Valley Scr away on Saturday 16 April, before a home game against Hanworth Villa on Easter Saturday and a game at Meadowbank against Bookham on Bank Holiday Monday 25 April.

Team – John McBride, Asa Rixon Nichols, Sam Sawyers, Dan Dunning ©, Tyrone Oliver, Joe Chandler, Craig Duffell, Luke Reid, Billy Ramsey, Leroy Hyett, Toby Fitzgibbon.

Substitutes - Ryan Stewart, Ben Moses, Jon Louizou, Jon Tyler, Jamie Rixon Nichols.

Wood 1-2 Hanworth Villa.

Think everyone thought a draw would have been the right result.

Wood missing both their first choice keepers so fair play to Franco Abbatecola for stepping in.

Villa took the lead on 40 minutes when Charlie Hare broke down the left and chipped into the far corner from a tight angle.

Wood levelled on 52 minutes when Manny Quarshie drove home from 10 yards.

Good effort from both sides and Villa nicked it on 81 minutes when Ricky Farnden punished some appalling defending from Wood.

Terry Buss tipped a Quarshie header onto the post/bar angle.

Quick mention for Wood's MOM - 17 year old Harold Odamatey. One to watch.:applaus:

I like the people at Villa and we will be looking at Friday evening matches with them in 2011/12.:welcome:

WAS DISAPPOINTED BUT NOT SUPRISED ABOUT THE GAME BEING A DULL AFFAIR. THIS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH RUNNING ON THE MATCH. AS STATED ON MY PREVIOUS POST, SUCH TOP OF THE TABLE CLASHES WITH SO MUCH AT STAKE WHERE PRESSURE IS APPLIED, I WAS RIGHT IN MY ASSUMPTION BUT THOUGHT A DRAW WOULD BE THE OUTCOME NEVERTHELESS, CHERTSEY COME AWAY WINNERS. WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH CAMBERLEY WHO DIDN'T REALLY TROUBLE THE CHERTSEY GOAL IN THE 2ND HALF

VP VERY INTERESTING YOU STATING THAT EITHER CHERTSEY OR GUILDFORD GO INTO THE ZAMARETTO AND NOT RYMANS ? PLEASE EXPLAIN MORE.....................INTERESTING

WITH RESPECT TO ALL THE FORTHCOMING CLUBS MENTIONED :

I WOULD EXPECT CHERTSEY TO WIN THEIR LAST 3 AWAY GAMES AGAINST : RPV, COVE (INTERESTING THIS ONE AS COVE ON A ROLL LOST 2 IN LAST 10 GAMES) & EGHAM THATS 9 POINTS = TOTAL 94 POINTS

I WOULD EXPECT GUILDFORD TO DROP 3 POINTS IN THEIR LAST 5 GAMES AGAINST : HANWORTH VILLA ( IN FORM TEAM UNBEATEN IN THEIR LAST 10 GAMES) . COLLIERS WOOD, CROYDON, ASH AND BOOKHAM THATS 12 POINTS = TOTAL 95 POINTS

I'LL BE GOING TO WATCH THE HANWORTH VS GUILDFORD GAME 'COS THERE COULD BE AN UPSET THERE. BUT THIS IS A CRAZY LEAGUE WITH SURPRISING RESULTS SO WHO KNOWS, IS THERE MORE TWISTS AND TURNS DURING THE NEXT 3 WEEKS ? ........... WE WILL SEE.

ITS GOOD THAT THIS SEASON WILL GO TO THE WIRE AND THAT THERE ARE NO CHAMPIONS ELECT ........ HOPEFUL;LY THIS WILL BE THE CASE OF FUTURE SEASONS TO COME !

The Ryman League has The Kent League, Essex, Sussex, Combined Counties, Eastern Counties and Spartan League all potentially feeding it. There are only four places available so the clubs winning those leagues can't all go into it. The Zamaretto League has few teams wanting to go into it from some parts of the country due to the travelling. In the past couple of years teams in and around East Anglia have kicked off demanding to be put into the Ryman League which means teams from West Surrey and NW and SW London are now being put in the Zamaretto League. There's talk that Fleet may be willingly switched from the Ryman to Zamaretto again next season and Godalming may go with them. Those two teams have flitted between the leagues in recent years. If so, it means anything west of Walton is now Southern League territory. That includes Chertsey & Guildford.

Our last two promoted sides have ended up in there and teams like Ashford are in it although there's also the split between 'central' and 'south & west'. I think two seasons ago Windsor were in one division while Slough were in the other so it all depends where the border lines go.

This is just my opinion and we won't know where teams end up until all the promotions and relegations are sorted and leagues have had their AGMs but western CCL clubs can't assume they'll go into the Ryman League if promoted these days.

We will have to bank on Southern League-ish football in two seasons' time then, because we will get promotion because our Chairman has promised we will be in the Conference in 5 years time. At the same time moon cheese (green the only colour) will be widely available.

is that your attempt at a team talk SF i suggest you stick to watching, what happens is Koo does his team talk tactics and whatever and then hands over to me, do you honestly think I am going to mention anything that is said on this forum in my talk before a match you codling, have you never heard of mind games a forum is the perfect place for them, most of the youngsters who play for us would never have heard of the Fans Focus Forum so it wouldn't do much good mentioning it, now if I was to mention something that was said on Facebook that would be a different kettle of fish altogether, and then I'll go and put the cones out.

But who will be leading you to the conference Tempest can see you hVing another change in summer if your run keeps on. Are the players the same or did many leave? I know Adam Foulser did as saw him play for Godalming few weeks back.

Not a clue. I thought AF had gone to Bedfont Town. A loss on Tuesday will equal our worst ever CCL losing streak, 6, We last did that in 06-07. I know it is not that desperate but we are 11th now, so we have lost 4 places as well. The worry is that if the players we have now are not deemed good enough at the end of the season for next season then we have five games that become even more devoid of meaning than they would usually. A complete overhaul could have been done by Steve Baker, an experienced manager, instead of John Hamsher, an inexperienced one. I hop H has a realistic and achievable wishlist of suitable players because they are either are not good enough or don't want to play for the club and/or the new boss.

Wont pass any comment on the current Egham situation as that would be to predictable and is not my style !

However just for the record after i was given the rest of the season of Adam Foulser signed for Godalming and is playing and doing well.

Pleased for him as he is a great lad. James Hennesey went straight back to Godalming and Martin Randall left tthe club with immediate effect.

Had a couple of weeks of now and had the joys of shopping and gardening. Its driving me mad :flame:

I do hope the 3 of you will be happy

Hi Steve, how far away do you think Egham were of seriously challenging for the title if you had stayed on? I did not see you play this season.

Warlingham 2 v 1 Eversley

Still in shock at the referees performance which directly influenced the result of this match!

Eversley started much brighter and took the lead on 10 minutes with a snap shot from Craig Smith from just inside the box. We could have and maybe should have increased our lead but slowly Warlingham found their feet and got back in to the game. Some gamesmanship (or maybe experience) IMO won Warlingham a penalty as the Warlingham striker forced contact in side the box. The referee was conned, booked Mark Morgan for a minor protest and it was 1-1 just before half time.

Wars edged the opening minutes of the second half a created a couple of good opportunities but it seemed to be a day when defenses would win through. Then the turning point of the match. An innocuous challenge in midfield by Morgan, arguably not even a free kick. Second yellow for Morgan and we were down to 10 with half an hour still to play. Now if that’s a yellow card then we might as well all pack up now as every game would be abandoned after half an hour with teams down to 6 each! Now rarely will you see me criticise referees but this was unbelievable! I am sure Tucks and Brunty will concur that ( apart one some theatricals from your centre half) there wasn`t one single bad tackle in the whole game yet we had 3 yellow and one red card!

We coped well and should have still got a point. Both sides created a couple of late chances - Warlingham finished one of them on eighty minutes and it was game over. We had a very young side out today with an average age of 19 and the experience of the home side was arguably what saw them through.

Thought Eversley started well and deserved their lead. Took wars an age to get into the game and after Tuesday mights performance we looked very lack lustre for the opening half hour yestersay. I thought the referee done well in the first half. It was a definite pen but was minimal contact. Second half got knows what the ref had in his tea at half tme BUT he was not helped by his two assistants. Never a sending off for Eversley. Inmyday is right if we are starting to get second yellows for tackles with no malice teams will be down to 6 each week. Not a bad tackle in the game. Hanbags a couple of times. Overall I thought and of course I would that we created enough to win it.
