Good game, Good officials, Lovely sun, Time for a snooze

Couldn't make the game today as I was working. That's another loss for Egham then and that's FIVE on the bounce. Our brave new world................................. Put us down for relegation next season!

Yep, the old reap what you sow comes to mind. Didn't know Steve but from all the comments on here I think there will be a lot of people chuffed to bits at the moment. Message to chairman, ever heard the old adage.....If it ain't broke, don't fix it !!!!!!!!

Chertsey Town 1-0 Camberley Town

As often seem to be the case in these top of the table encounters, this game was disappointing. Little in the way of quality or excitement, but curfews won't mind as they gain a vital 3 points and probably finish Camberley's title hopes at the same time. The only goal came about 10 minutes in, O'Regan with a clever lob which gave Foster no chance in the Camberley goal. Chertsey keeper Bradshaw was injured in a challenge in the first half, but carried on and completed the game with defender Cox taking the goal kicks. Camberley had a few chances to equalise in the second half and our own Non League Striker (Pagey) had Chertsey's best chances to extend the lead. It seems the ref may have sent off a Camberley player on or after the final whistle, as one Cambo fan was going absolutely mental on the sidelines as everyone started to drift away!

Not many games left now and it's going to the wire.....

As reported earlier a one nil win for Farleigh. Competitive match in glorious sunshine, complete with friendly clubhouse. Shame Farleigh don't play there more often.

To be truthful Croydon were better for about 85% to the game. I was surprised Egham were so poor. Sorry but how I saw it. Still The sun was out :)

I fully appreciate your point of view and I heartily concur as regards the weather, but the game was, in my honest opinion, dire. We lacked fans (we do anyway, but the three other diehards were unable to come) and players. We had on the bench just Paul Bennett, of the controlling Bennet clan, and, lovely fella though he is, even he will admit he is a bit player now for a Sunday pub side. No Pearcey on the sidelines with Colin Bartholomew and John Hamsher, and no Matt Grave, Tom Bentley, Tom Martin, Reon Thomas, Chris Hibbs or, providing he is still with the club after his only appearance, James Frayn. Where were they all? This game has been on our schedule all season.

A magnificent save by Justin Gray prevented the Trams taking a 16th minute lead but a well worked goal gave the home side a lead they deserved because they were presenting more of a threat than Brendan Matthews and John Pomroy did throughout the whole game. The home side , with six losses on the bounce, thus inflicted on Egham their fifth successive pointless sortie. We were total dog poo against a side who fought harder, ran harder, looked more cohesive throughout and yet still looked like what they are, a side second from bottom. I hope this does not sound like I am denigrating The Trams; they are second from bottom because they are, by definition, crap, so by extension of that definition, we were even more crap. We cannot blame either the pitch or the referee, because both were excellent. Despite this the only guy involved with Egham Town, other than me, who has actually seen us win things (Southern Combination Cup sometime in the mid 70s) still believes that sacking Steve Baker is the key to a bright new dawn. When he was sacked I said to my hubby that I seriously doubted that we would pick up another 6 or 7 points before the end of the season. We have, in two weeks, our final away game, against Epsom & Ewell, and face at home, Sandhurst Town (Tuesday), Molesey next Saturday, Chertsey Town on Bank Holiday Monday, and end the season with Badshot Lea. Given that Smudge told me today that B Lea have lost players (which their loss at Dorking today may bear out) we may end with not-a-defeat, but as for the others, I have huge doubts. A fellow Eghamite, another lucky enough to miss today's horror show, says to mark us up as relegation candidates next season. I don't think we will be that bad, and Mr Hamsher may be biding his time before waving his magic wallet, sorry, wand and we crush beneath our boots all those having the temerity to defy the mighty Egham machine. At the moment we need a mechanic to get the spanner out of the works.

It was nice to meet Smudge, and hopefully I will be able to see a different slant to his postings. Good luck to him and to Croydon. If you have any spare can we have it, please?

Chertsey sub sent off? Assumed it must be a Cambo player, as the guy screaming obscenities at the ref for the red appeared to me to be a Camberley fan!

ft Guildford city 2 Sandhurst town 0 ,sandhurst were a tough side to break down in the first half ,city came out in the second half a much better side with two goals scored by dan moody 54 and joel greaves 60 ,and guildford should of scored more .

Guildford deserved the win. Guildford goalkeeper can't keep blaming others for dropping the ball.

Once Guildford went in front, the ballboys disapeared, out of order.

Mole Valley SCR 1-0 Wembley

Poor game, played on a very dusty pitch.

First half was one of very few chances, with both defences on top.

Second half improved a bit, Wembley's keeper made a couple of decent saves, and showed good handling throughout. Our keeper made a good save from a Wembley free kick.

Looked like the game was going to drift out to a 0-0 draw, but in the last minute, Liam Holden scuffed a free kick into the box, Wembley failed to clear and it fell nicely to Taylor Mollatt about 8 yards out, to give us the points

It was Lee Weemes of Chertsey who was sent off after the final whistle.

Cove fans, is Noady still playing for you? Is so please take care of him as he is our youth team coach in our brave new world. I have just read Brave New World, for the first time since my teen years, and in the end the hero hangs himself. Not that bad yet...

Bring back Steve Baker was the cry from the Terraces today at the Arena, well from me anyway. To say Egham were the poorest side I have seen in the Premier this season, would be a disservice to the Trams, who should of walked this game 4-0.But in nervous bottom of the Table style, they spurned 3 golden opportunities to put the game out of sight.John Pomroy was a shadow of his former self, and maybe it is time for him to hang his boots up,the Croydon back four gave him not a sniff.Nice to meet Tempeststeward, not the mouthy person I expected, but an articulate passionate Egham Fan,who hates losing, which is no bad thing.Message to Mr. Bennett, LEATHERHEAD MADE A BAD MOVE BUT RECTIFIED IT,YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME,EX DORKING Wanderers players will not win you C.C.L. PREMIER.WISE UP.

Chertsey 1 v Camberley 0

Not the best game you will see but a good win for Chertsey. Tom O Regan scored a clever lob early on and Marcus Moody had a good chance to double the lead but couldnt quite make it. After that nothing really happened but Bradshaw was hurt rushing fom his goal to challenge for a long ball and for a while it looked like he could not continue. With no sub keeper on the bench Bradders had to stay on and was struggling to even stand up, but Cambereley never put him under the pressure that was expected. Second half really fizzled out with no real pressure from Camberley and it looking like finishing a 1 nil. Philip Page had a couple of good chances following his great movement but could not quite finish. Seems the ref forgot to blow the final whistle and played over 8 minutes injury time, when he did finally blow the Cambo keeper decide to smash the ball out of the ground over trees etc, really nice of the idiot as a volunteer then has to go and retrieve it, well done Foster!!

Warlingham 2 v 1 Eversley

Still in shock at the referees performance which directly influenced the result of this match!

Eversley started much brighter and took the lead on 10 minutes with a snap shot from Craig Smith from just inside the box. We could have and maybe should have increased our lead but slowly Warlingham found their feet and got back in to the game. Some gamesmanship (or maybe experience) IMO won Warlingham a penalty as the Warlingham striker forced contact in side the box. The referee was conned, booked Mark Morgan for a minor protest and it was 1-1 just before half time.

Wars edged the opening minutes of the second half a created a couple of good opportunities but it seemed to be a day when defenses would win through. Then the turning point of the match. An innocuous challenge in midfield by Morgan, arguably not even a free kick. Second yellow for Morgan and we were down to 10 with half an hour still to play. Now if that’s a yellow card then we might as well all pack up now as every game would be abandoned after half an hour with teams down to 6 each! Now rarely will you see me criticise referees but this was unbelievable! I am sure Tucks and Brunty will concur that ( apart one some theatricals from your centre half) there wasn`t one single bad tackle in the whole game yet we had 3 yellow and one red card!

We coped well and should have still got a point. Both sides created a couple of late chances - Warlingham finished one of them on eighty minutes and it was game over. We had a very young side out today with an average age of 19 and the experience of the home side was arguably what saw them through.
