Enfield v Southend M

Recommended Posts

A fantastic match this evening, it was a wise choice choosing this match over the Real Madrid massacre of Tottenham although I caught some goals in the Enfield Bar - I had originally Sky plussed the Real Madrid match, however the tannoy announcer had an annoying habit of reading out the latest scores during the Enfield match.

The last ten minutes was crazy and a late Enfield winner was more than a tad harsh on an impressive young Southend side, I feel a draw would have been a fair result. The second Enfield goal was a complete fluke, one of the luckiest goals I have seen in over 30 years of watching football.

The two second legs of the Cup will both be worth a visit, I personally cant wait.

One final note, I see tonights programme will also be used for the Enfield v Southend league match saturday - a league first perhaps?

Have to agree another decent performance from Southend Manor and to be fair Enfield were equally as committed. At one point though Manor were on top and deserved to go in to the lead. The equalizing goal was unreal. Apparently he was trying to kick the ball off (from 35 yards) because he had cramp and ended up connecting and sending it in to the top corner! The winner was not a great one to concede from Manors point of view, with the smallest player on the Enfield team scoring it from a long deep free kick.

Still it sets up a superb return leg at Southchurch Park in a fortnight, with a better surface the game should be even better.

That's because he's an Arsenal Fan .
