A report on this one from Tuesday night from another's Forum:

A game that threatened to become interesting but in the end just failed. Royston scored after 2 minutes and had the bulk of early play with Hanwell coming back into it midway through the half.

Second half was scrappy but Hanwell got what they deserved with an equaliser a couple of minutes from time past the substitute keeper (original one was injured)

Always enjoy my visits to Hanwell but without the flying Baverstock they relied too much on hoof ball in the second half which is unlike them

A word for the ref and indeed all 3 officials who did well despite the assessor being there

Now, do I go to a meaningless game at Ashford on Saturday or find a game that still counts for something ?

Attendance - never more than 30 watching the game

 

First time visit - tatty ground but definitely not without charm. The bar was packed for the Champions League, and the hosts thoughtfully put a plasma screen outside in the covered bar area so you could watch Hillingdon and Spurs disintegrate simultaneously. Routine win for the visitors who were much the stronger side. The majority of the paying spectators seemed to be supporting Villa.

 

They played with a red ball for some reason - is this standard for the competition? Or the Spartan South Midlands League? I'm not sure that a white one would have improved the quality a great deal.

LTG, I'm happy to sit them all out once we're safe... these hard pitches aren't that great on my knees and back! It seems MM8 being back in the fold has brought us the luck and results a lot of our performances have deserved.

As i've stated a really good game between St Mags and the Jets. talking points -

 

2mins 40secs - Was Oxhey Jets keeper fouled in the build up to St Mags 4th goal...I'm in no way referee bashing as I thought the man in the middle and his two assistants had an excellent evening. Both teams played the game in a very good spirit which is always great to see.

 

4mins 40secs - Save of the season by St Mags keeper??? Wouldn't look out of place on Match of the Day

 

5mins 20secs - Another fantastic goal with a lob from outside of the box.
