who would you like as next manager

Someone who lives & works in Kent.

Someone who has authority and earns respect from the players.

Someone who plays entertaining football and lets the players express themselves.

Someone who is a good communicator.

Someone who has tactical knowledge and is not afraid to implement Pan B or Plan C if things are not going well.

Someone who has a good knowledge of players at the level we play at and above.

Someone who learns from mistakes and understands that they do happen.

and finally someone who does not have to be mates with the players.

Mark Butler

A good, young manager with experience and contacts at this level. Was starting to improve the Quality of football with us previously with the team passing the ball!!! I would like to see him given time to build a team, playing the way he wants them to, in a formation that is not medieval (eg 3-5-2 is medieval) Give him the budget that IOC was given and a contract and I'm sure the quality of football will improve and so will our league position over 2 seasons. He always spoke very well in interviews and I just know that he could do well given time and a decent budget .

Jim Ward PLEASE

Why, dont you want him anymore Ian? Not a good Rams fan are you if you feel that way especially after all he's done for you over there.

Look I've said it once this year, Jim Ward has done wonders this season with a young team & getting them to pull results around. Bravo Jim Ward & thats not taking the p*** either. but as for him coming here,to Margate FC. Well thats taking things one step to far. Jim Ward for Margate. Pleeeeease! As for Butler, well similar applies for me,Pleeeeease!

(Both above not to be take as begging pleases)

Was in Broadstairs yesterday afternoon, picking up a passenger from the Chauffer office when i noticed last years reserves/fringe 1st teamers walking up the hill. It was nice to see them. The problem is they are playing out of their skins at ramsgate. Hopefully they will not be to traumatised by the experiences they have had under our last 2 managers and, will one day make the journey back from our Ramsgate academy to Hartsdown rd.(lets hope one in particular does not go south west to the white side)

Does Mark Butler have the contacts? He brought in or tried to bring in people he had at Ashford. When he left and went to Carshalton he brought in those same guy's ? Must admit , not someone I liked or would choose again.

I would like to see whoever the new manager is will be given time to build a squad capable of making a challange for promotion. This will not be a one season mission in my opinion as we are lacking in areas of the park!!

The difficult part is keeping hold of promising youngsters like Courtney Robinson whilst they are awaiying a first team chance.

I am no expert in non league football but i would like to see Mark Butler return and given another chance.

Also from a purely biased point of view i would love to see Julian Dicks here lol.

I would like us to make an approach to Hope Powell, she says she wants to manage a league side and she has start somewhere. I would argue she has loads of experience. good tactical manager, and gets the most out of her players.

Which of the players she has managed would you want to see in(or out) of a margate shirt.

Just thought I would resurface this topic because it is important..

after recent results / performances I think it is essential that the directors pick the right person to be new manager...they need to get this right..

they need someone who is going to shake things up, get rid of the players who are not needed and keep the ones who are good enough (about 5 of them)..

are there any big-ish names available? a big-ish name may attract crowds and may have connections? It could be pointless because wages may be a problem but its worth exploring.

Directors if you read this PLEASE DO NOT RUSH THIS - LOOK INTO EVERY OPTION AVAILABLE PLEASE!

As a player, Hope Powell found success – after her debut at 16, the midfielder won 66 caps for England and won the women's FA cup three times – but as a coach, she has reached the top of her game, one that is not best known for its enlightened approach to women.

She has been in charge of the English team since 1998, and in 2003 became the first woman anywhere to get the Uefa pro licence, the highest coaching qualification available. Powell, 44, has taken her team into the European Championship three times, and this summer will be the second time she has led them to the World Cup. In 2009, there were rumours she was to be appointed manager of Grimsby Town, where she would have become the first woman in charge of a men's club. Although it didn't happen, if any woman achieves that it is likely to be Powell – if the England women let her go.

We'd better move quick or we'll loose her!!!

Listened to her on the radio today and she was very impressive and eloquent which is always a good start- no Ron Manager'-we're goin to bash 'em statements from her.

Unfortunately-with her england commitments and the new ladies premiership-i expect she is somewhat pre-occupied with the girls.

You never know though
