Hope your not playing Canvey in a evening fixture because if u r winning with about 20 minutes to go they will pull the plug on the floodlights like they did to us and when two floodlights were restored after about an hour they wouldnt come out of the changing rooms, when they eventually come out they started kicking lumps out of us the ref blew early and we won 2-0 the rest is history we were champions in the end.When r u playing them away ?

I think Fleet fan must be the only Gravesend fan who still harbours a grudge against us. Most Fleet fans want to resume rivalries next season especially in the Conference but I think Mr Fleet fan has something of an obsession with something that happened a long time ago.

Yellow Army 2003 i dont hold a grudge m8 im just letting the lovely people of Hornchurch know wat goes on on in Canvey if u was there that nite u know im telling the truth, anyway good luck 4 promotion u deserve it after knocking on the door 4 the past couple of seasons, hope 2 see u next season in the conference good luck 4 the rest of the season.

Certainly wasn't our greatest hour and I have to admit that some of our players acted like spoilt brats after the lights came back on especially a certain Mr Stimson.

 

As for the floodlights, really not sure if anything sinister was going on. In the previous month before the Gravesend game the floodlights went out twice during the second half of games and on both occasions we were in comfortable winning positions (although admittedly we got them back on within 10 minutes)

 

Certainly there is alot of mythology around that game. Was it genuine or something more suspicious? I did hear that all the incidents were blamed on a faulty fuse box that was replaced.

Nothing like a bit of controversy or scandal.

Hornchurch are playing us in May so hopefully no need for the floodlights.

 

Only way the match will be abandoned is if LMU starts a pitch invasion, hits somebody with her crutches and starts a riot, then again we survived Aldershot last season!
