That was truly awful. I felt felt we stood little chance of scoring all game, their seemed to be no off the ball movement from Hockton or Ansell. Their seemed to be poor corner after poor corner. Genearrly their was little passion or commiment The only player who was creating anything was Marlon. we certainly need a creative central midfield player which would have to be a loan signing from somewhere. I reckon we have more chance of being relegated then making the conference south which would be a total disaster as it would effectively be a double relegation.

Unbelievable.Yet again all gazza n cum on ricay can do is come on here n start moaning. The club does not have a big budget to work with this season and has a manager that has played at the highest level who is having his first go at managing with not alot of tools to work with.Give this situation time to resolve itself,we only beat kettering four days ago! Some people just dont understand football or how to support their club.

Newlodgeblue you couldn't have been at the match today to make a comment like that. Gazza was expressing his disapointment like the rest of the fans. No one has criticised the Management Team but the players have to take the blame for today. there is no shame in losing but showing no passion is inexuseable.

I do believe Gazza does know how to support his football club and has done so. But the performance was poor and he has said so. He hasn't slagged anyone off, just stated that it was a sham. How is that moaning.

Being new to this lark and reading most of the posts as an "annon", I'm surprised that you accuse him "yet again", when all season he has been supportive of the club and its players and I believe he still does despite the poor performance and result. Perhaps you have missed these posts or have a short enough memory not to call on them.

Or perhaps, sir, you wore your rose coloured glasses at the game!!! If you did, then you couldn't have witnessed a performance that even had the people on the bench exasperated!!!

And by the way, I see no comment made by Gazza criticising the club or money spent. He just was commenting on the performance of the day.

i cant really see how anyone can have a 'pop' at gazza on here.. as he has said a thousand times if you want to discuss anything about the games or the club then see him 'face to face' at a game.. as you can see from his fotos he aint exactly the blending into the background type.. he speaks to most of the club officials and he takes the time to promote the club in his new role.. that doesn't mean he isnt entitled to his opinion.. sure i can see why a lot of you guys are pissed off with the footy at the moment but what you giving it to gazza for? you can even tell from the honest way he posts messages on footy forums he is an allright bloke..

you pay to watch a team for over two decades turf up a crock of [****!!****](apparently) then your allowed to let off a little steam

newlodge blue you are so wrong!!
we are all aware that we don't have a big budget to play with and to a degree if we are beaten by a better side (which i suspect there will be a quite a few of this season) then that's something i reluctantly will accept. what is not acceptable however, is a spineless effort by a bunch of players who seem to accept defeat too readily, cant be arsed to jump for headers, and sound as if they are in a library.

When you say time to resolve itself..what do you mean? wait another 15 games before realising we are up sh*t creek. we need to be proactive to try and arrest the decline not just wait and hope for something to happen.

When you say people dont know how to support their club, what do you mean? I would say that someone who has attended every game this season including friendlies as gazza has (i think) is good support and i also believe that the supporters have been as good as gold in general in getting behind their team. if you think that on saturday the team gave it their best shot then in my opinion you don't understand football.

From the almost sublime to the ridiculous in 5 days. That was definitely the worst performance this season:- JJ 5, Dormer 6, Reddington 6 (Lee 4), Stephens 5, Penn 5, S.Jones 4 (Ritchie 4), Ansell 6, Henty 5, Patterson 6, Hockton 5, Baukham 6 (Hunter 4).

...and there was I singing the praises of Kevin Stephens midweek, he had a shocker. Anyway I paid my entrance fee so I'm entitled to a moan, Jimmy Lee makes my heart sink, he reminds me of Savidge and Morris last season, where if they were on the bench I thought to myself 'who could they possibly replace to enhance the team' answer nobody, same thing with Jimmy Lee, he may have a stunning CV but I'm sorry he's way above his level. Steve Jones has been recommended to Justin, apparently he was much saught after in the close season. I thought he was below par on Tuesday, yet he still lasted 75 mins and again yesterday, he's supposed to be an outlet from defence but he just never seems to get to the ball. Justin lost his rag at the end of the match yesterday after a crass comment from the stands, I hope he stays cool, the smile has disappeared, I hope he sticks with it, this is a low point in his very short managerial career and he deserves all the support he can get. I hope right now he's phoning a few old professional buddies for a bit of encouragement. Spurs got a hammering as well, not a great couple of weeks for me!

Thought I'd give this one the benefit of a good night's sleep before commenting....

Ironically I thought with a bit of luck we could have nicked a point. Reddington had a great chance with that header first half, second half Gary Ansell (arguably our best player, not that that is saying much) had two decent attempts - a header that flashed just wide and that shot when he got past the defense but had to hit the shot from a tight angle and saw it well saved.

That said we would hardly have deserved a point let alone the 3 points we should be looking for if we're seriously going to move into (at least) the play-off positions. I'm not sure that the problem is a lack of talent, just that at the moment the players are not applying it consistantly. IF we're going to move up the table, the players have got to show the level of application we saw first half tuesday EVERY WEEK. It is not enough to play well 1 game in 3.

Nobody expects us to win every game - as has been stated above the budget is such that we can't go out and buy proven stars. What I do expect though is that we should go out and play like we WANT to win every game. We're offering a lot of players the chance to make a step up into the Ryman premier and at the moment too many of them are playing like they would rather be back in div 1.

Cheers lads...

I've calmed down a bit now. Well, what a poor performance and I agree with most of you lads, the players have gotta look at themselves for that one. No effort or application... in my opinion we surrendered. And I believe we do have the talent, at least to play as a team and apply ourselves well but yesterday I'm afriad we didn't show anything of what I think we can do.

And to answer my critic, I have no grief to give Justin or his lads on the bench. They were as frustrated as the rest of us and were at a loss as to how to motivate 'em to get going. And that isn't a reflection on them either 'cos I think if you put a rocket up the players collective [****!!****], they wouldn't have got going yesterday.

Nope, again, that one is down to the players...

Bit harsh on JJ, without him we would of lost about 4 or 5 nil.

Yes JJ made two excellent saves and could not be faulted for the goal. Harrow deserved this win because they wanted to win more than we did dont know if the players just expected to turn up for three points.

We have had three poor performances this season Hayes, Ford and now Harrow so this cannot be considered a one off.

Dont know if loan players are the answer (Look at Leeds!) but we need to change something if just the players attitude, they could not even do the basics at times yesterday.

Couple of key injuries I thought. Sam Taylor who I think has been our best player this season and Andy Jones who made so much difference against Kettering lets just hope that both are fit for the 'DCB' game. I think that everybody is deeply disappointed and hurt by yesterdays performance, and what makes it even more frustrating was that we played so well on the previous Tuesday. Still, yesterday is now consigned to the history books and it's up to the players to show a bit of resolve and commitment to win games for this football club and to start hauling ourselves out of the abyss that is the Ryman Premier League bottom 4.

thought i would wait a few days to see if my mind was changed by anything i saw on saturday. Firstly, can i say that for the most part most people on here offer up sensible views and express their opinions in a fair way, to have a pop at Gazza after he has watched his team roll over and die is very harsh. Let people express themselves on here, and if you dont agree then just remember that without people posting their views this forum wouldnt be much good would it!

for what its worth, i thought we were shocking. I go back to my point the other day, that the management are working on a limited budget but they have chosen the players that are with us now. Justin cant coach players to be better if they havent got the ability. I think whoever is advising justin of the players to get in needs to have a look at the part they have played. Why have we gone for all younger lads? surely there was some good older heads available on the cheap?

We looked like a team that had given up on saturday. I thought Luke up frount was very lazy, for a tall lad he should be winning most balls in the air, but he has to jump for the ball!

I agree the lads didnt put the effort in but be fair they have been put in a situation that for many is a step up in leagues, add this to the fact that they havent played together before and because of their ages most are pretty inexperienced in general in non league. If only we could get some older lads in to carry some of the younger lads. surely the club needs to find a way of raising some funds (easier said then done i know) to fund the players as other wise we are in serious and very realistic danger of being 'double relegated' and where would that leave the club financially? its impossible to say as no one really knows the exact position on budget.

Just like to come back on a couple of points PC27 made...

First up Luke Bauckham - in an ideal world wouldn't have played. Don't forget he missed all of pre-season and had only 2 sub appearances under his belt prior to Saturday. He's clearly not fit, and I guess Justin wanted to keep Ansell in midfield after impressing there on Tuesday.

Second the question of would relegation be a problem financially? If we don't make it into the new Alliance South, and find ourselves in the "New" Ryman prem (not sure what you meant by double relegated?) I don't think it would be that bad financially. In money terms I don't think that slightly increased gates from playing the 8 or so DM teams would generate sufficient funds to cover the increased travelling expenses and I very much doubt whether the new league will prove a much bigger draw for sponsors than the current one. I suspect (please note these are just my opinions!) that any financial problems would be caused by decreased gates as casual fans won't want to come and watch a struggling team. Obviously nobody wants to see relegation, and I for one won't be mentioning it again (for a while at least!)
