Farnborough North End?

Recommended Posts

Did they play today against Warlingham as there last 4 home games have been away at the Club they were meant to play at Home.As Whyteleafe were at home today that would of been impossible.Should their Results be expunged as some Teams have had an unfair advantage over others.I did ask earlier in the week where this game was going to be played, but received no answer. Some TEAMS IN dIV 1 have played 19 home games is this Fair.I THINK NOT.

FNE V Warlingham

Game postponed re-scheduled for Thursday 14th April at Cove fc. Game postponed due to FNE unable to find pitch. I agreed with FNE and the league that game be re-scheduled.

The league have handled this situation very badly. All teams playing away at FNE before christmas have had an unfair advantage. FNE should have been suspended from the league the minute they were kicked out of their ground.

The league are supporting a club which owes its previous landlords several thousand pounds. Good advertisement for the league. Is the league condoning a team to run up debts and then run away from them?????

I wait for Whitelaws response, which I know won't come.

Having lost their ground, Farnborough North End have been given permission by the Management Committee to play at any other suitable venue until the end of the season. This was felt to be a better alternative than removing them from the League, which would have impacted upon other clubs in the division, as well as possibly causing the demise of a club, which nobody on the management Committee at least, wished to see.

They will have until 31 May 2011 to advise the League where they intend to play next season but "multiple" ground sharing will not be allowed after the end of this season.

I hope that answers the question.

I think Whitelaw already answered this in a previous post, as above SL

Green Fingers,

Whitelaws response was before they started to postpone games because they have no ground. Also, I believe that FNE were still talking about playing all their home games locally and not reversing the fixture.

Whitelaw also mentions the impact on other clubs but surely playing FNE at home twice will have an impact on Teams who have already played them away.

Another poorly handled situation by the league.

Perhaps FNE could have stayed at there ground if the CCL had compensated clubs in DIV 1 who have lighting bills to pay.

As a neutral, I think the League were in a very difficult situation whatever they did: If they expelled FNE, clubs would have complained about the loss of points or the loss of a revenue-generating home game. They keep FNE in, and get criticised for it!

The League is run for the benefit of its member clubs, of which FNE is one - surely it is better to try to help them survive by allowing them to complete their fixtures than expelling them from the League and effectively killing the club?

As Krooner has said elsewhere, the officers of the League are VOLUNTEERS who are elected by the clubs each year. If you think the League is so badly run, why not stand for election yourself?

Did FNE run up debts? Genuine question as I don't know what's going on there but I thought they were fully paid up until the owners of the Cody S&S decided to impose a price hike and back-date it. As FNE couldn't pay they were evicted rather than running away from the problem. According to their website they were in discussions with a view to playing the rest of their games there but that obviously never came to fruition.

As far as I'm aware FNE are paying other clubs for the use of their facilities at the moment.

Hayes have been a funny old side. From the start of the season saying they'd get promoted to now! Wwe played them in the Christmas fixture and for the first ten minutes they started with nine players before the rest turned up.

Last Wednesday when we played them they had seven warming up and did start with the full eleven and had only the manager in the dougout until after half time when he was joined by one sub.

It's a shame to see sides struggle and possibly collapse, it just shows are times are changing and costs are growing, especially at this level!!
