PERHAPS I CAN SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE DORKING RESULT AT MOLESEY! IF YOU LOOK BACK AT OUR RECENT FORM YOU WILL SEE 2.2 AWAY TO GULIDFORD 4.1 WIN AWAY TO CROYDON 3.1 WIN AT HOME TO EPSOM 3.0 WIN AT HOME TO BOOKHAM AND A 4.3 LOSS AT ASH, THEN WE LOST FIVE KEY PLAYERS ALL AT ONCE TO INJURY, AND THE RESULTS REFLECTED THAT, I WAS PLAYING FOUR YOUTH TEAM PLAYERS IN ONE RECENT MATCH! HOWEVER FOUR RETURNED ON SATURDAY, MAKING US FULL STRENGTH BAR ONE PLAYER, WHO IS ALSO NOW FIT FOR OUR NEXT GAME ON TUESDAY NIGHT. I THINK STEVE AT MOLESEY WILL AGREE WITH ME, WE MATCHED THEM ALL OVER THE PARK, AND WERE WELL WORTHY OF OUR POINT. IT WAS A VERY EXCITING, CLOSE MATCH, AND I CAN ASSURE YOU MOLESEY PUT IN A FULL SHIFT.

Pretty much spot on. We started really well and got a goal ahead, but Dorking are certainly a different proposition to earlier in the season, as recent results do show. They got one back and at half time all to play for. I hoped that we would do what we did to Ash last week and turn the screw second half, but the truth is that they were the better side second half and were the ones looking most likely to score. They ought to have nicked the extra two points right at the death, but the lad went for power and hit the bar, so it ended 1-1. To be fair to him, he was superb all game and led the line really well. NG, you seem to forget sometimes how strong this league is and the result was not a particularly surprising one when you look at the recent form showed by Dorking, as pointed out. If only two go down this season, and Dorking keep their players fit and available, don't be surprised to see Dorking in the premier next season. Decent game, good referee and a good spirit shown by all the players.

Thanks for the kind words: Here is the official DFC match report.

Dorking produced one of their best performances of the season on Saturday with an away draw at top 4 side Molesey. In fact Chicks were inches from snatching a dramatic victory in the last 30 seconds when Toby Fitzgibbon found himself in the 6 yard box with only the keeper to beat, Fitzgibbon almost catching the ball too well and smashing the ball against the bar when a softer touch would have given Dorking the full three points.

Even so, the draw was a result few would have predicted before the game as Molesey went into the game in good form, on the back of three consecutive wins over Carshalton Athletic in the Surrey Senior Cup, Ash United and away at fellow high flyers Camberley Town, while Dorking have suffered a bit of a blip recently, as defeats at Banstead and at home to Cove had been suffered when the side had built up a head of steam in the weeks leading up to those games.

Dorking welcomed back the influential Craig Duffell in midfield, and Billy Ramsey out wide, but the recently on fire striker Leroy Hyett was missing, forcing manager Peter Buckland to bring centre back Toby Fitzgibbon into the strike force, Fitzgibbon proving a handful for the Molesey defence as he sought to provide fellow striker Jon Louizou with ammunition.

As expected, Molesey came out full of confidence and bossed the opening 20 minutes, as Dorking defended deeply. Molesey almost scored early on from a tight angle, but did take the lead on 18 minutes when Dorking failed to clear a free kick, Darius Herayi flicking the ball past the keeper to make it 1-1. Molesey were on top and should have made it 2-0 just minutes later when a Molesey striker found himself one on one, but the ball was scrambled clear.

Dorking saw the Molesey strorm out, and as the half neared its end, Dorking were having much more of an even contest, Luke Read almost equalising 10 minutes from half time as the Molesey keeper produced a good save. 4 minutes from half time, Dorking were level, leading scorer Louizou capitalising on some hesitant Molesey defending, keeper McBride’s long free kick finding the Dorking striker who steered the ball past the keeper from close range to make it 1-1.

The second half saw Dorking carry on like they had finished the first period, Duffell and Oliver combatative in midfield, with the defence restricting Molesey to a handful of half chances. Indeed as the half wore in, Dorking looked the stronger side, and there was to be a winner, it was Dorking who were the more likely to be the victor. A really strong end to the game from Dorking then, almost rewarded by Fitzgibbon’s last ditch effort which cannoned off the bar, and Dorking will go into their last 5 games of the season with renewed optimism.

Dorking now play Sandhurst Town at home on Tuesday night, 5 April. Badshot Lea then visit Dorking on Saturday 9 April.

TEAM:- John McBride, Asa Rixon Nicholls, Dan Dunning ©, Tyrone Oliver, Luke Reid, Craig Duffell, Dave McCann, Sam Sawyers, Billy Ramsey, Jon Louizou, Toby Fitzgibbon.

Subs:- Jamie Rixon Nicholls, Joe Chandler, Ben Moses, Harry Maneh

THANKS GUYS, I WASN'T THERE SO CANNOT COMMENT ON THE GAME,

BUT LIKE ALL PREDICTORS IT WAS THE SUPRISE RESULT IN THE CCL PREM BAR THE EXCEPTION OF RPV SCORE AGAINST GUILDFORD.

FROM READING THE ABOVE COMMENTS, COULD IT BE THAT MOLESEY DO NOT REALLY HAVE ANYTHING TO PLAY FOR AS SUCH AND THAT THE PLAYERS HAVE THEIR EYES SET ON YOUR SEMI-FINAL AT LEATHERHEAD ( I WILL BE GOING TO WATCH THAT GAME). I DONT KNOW, BUT COULD IT BE THAT PLAYERS DON'T REALLY WANT TO GET INJURED, SO TO BE IN CONTENTION FOR A PLACE IN THE SIDE ? WE ALSO HAVE TO CONSIDER THAT DORKING MUST BE FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES TO AVOID RELEGATION, SO PERHAPS DORKINGS DISPLAY ESPECIALLY THE 2ND HALF AS STATED EMPHASISES THAT AND NOT A SUPRISE ? YOU CAN IMAGINE WHATS GOING THRU' MY MIND ....................... BUT WELL DONE DORKING ALL THE SAME.

FARLEIGH 4-1 SHEERWATER

Well done shifty and the choo choo boys. Good to see you all again and even better to score.

Luck wasn't with us on the day. You boys done well. Got to say though if our pens were given it may have been a closer scoreline. Your third goal that killed us off was offside by 2 yards, I was sat on the bench by this time and was directly in line, unfortunately the ar wasn't ;).

Good luck for the rest of the season and well done for reaching top 5 now.

Good to catch up with smudge and spy too.

Sheerwater started the first half on a high, a few long range efforts went close but didn't trouble Farleigh's goal.

Neavesy11 came closest for Farleigh after his effort ricochet'd off the near post having the Sheerwater keeper beaten.

The breakthrough came for Farleigh after a goalkeeping error allowed Kieran Dias to cross to Spencer9 to eventually put into the empty net.

Sheerwater came back into the game with YoungVeteran making his return to the Arena to face his old side saw his one-on-one attempt well saved by ShiftyOnFire.

After patient build up play from Sheerwater they got the equaliser five minutes from half time. A neat inter play on the wing allowed a cross to find YoungVeteran's head to guide into the far corner and in off the post.

1-1 at half time with Farleigh not playing to their full potential.

Second half was a completely different Farleigh side, mentally switched on & comfortable in possession.

A corner whipped in by BlueAndWhiteArmy found Kieran Dias free at the front post, turn and shoot onto the defenders raised hand. Penalty to Farleigh.

Spencer9 stepped up to the plate but saw his effort very well saved by the keeper.

A penalty shout at the other for Sheerwater was turned down by the referee and the resulting counter attack started by Glads3 found space to feed Gilsey8 who's left footed pin point pass over the Sheerwater left back found Kieran dias one-on-one at an acute angle to drilled home to put Farleigh 2-1 up.

Another break from Sheerwater who were playing patent football saw their long range effort smartly saved by Bull.

Another penalty shout from Sheerwater was once again turned down, this one was more stone wall...

A corner from Farleigh's Neavesy11 found Skipper and "Golden Oldie" Roy Newman free at the far post to put his powerful header past keeper and defender on the post.

With ten minutes remaining substitute young Dan Canning found himself in space after a well won aerial challenge from Sam Blowers landed at Canning's feet, he tricked the defender and slotted home for a comfortable 4-1 scoreline.

Farleigh's second half perseverance paid off, taking their chances and getting bodies in the box.

The Choo Choo continues till the end of the season! Will Farleigh have a say in who win's the league??

Was Nice to meet & have a drink with Loop after, even though he asked before the game for me to "throw one in"

And of course welcoming back Chris (YoungVeteran) to score past me!

NG - you said recently that you have yet to see Chessington. If you are not going to Tolworth tomorrow to see CWU at Corinthian Casuals, pop along to see us play them tomorrow and make your own mind up about whether or not the game means nothing. I would like to think that the lads are very much aware that a semi final place will not be won by under-performing in matches or sitting in the physio room, plus we have set targets that we want them to achieve and are on course to attain these if we keep this mini run going. I know it's unlikely you will make it, as Tolworth is the place to be if you can tomorrow, but you know where we are.
