Margate v Harrow updates

Previously, on a topic about IOC, Wellsie (in his official capacity) said very clearly that the club would always sack a manager in 6 months or a year if he wasnt exactly achieving the target eg promotion or play offs.

This tells us all we need to know about the club - Its disgusting.

I think it can be quite difficult, just wondering DomBlueBoy, if next season after 20 games we was bottom of the league with say 8 points would you want the manager sacked?

Obviously each situation has to be judged on it's own merits. But for the club to make such a generic statement that every manager would get sacked no matter how long he been in charge doesn't sound good to me. At some point a manager should be given time to build.

dan Langiano-was that really his first league start ?

I thought i went to an away game (maybe a cup game) a couple of seasons ago, where he started the game and was played at right back !!

Anyway-i thought he did pretty good in central midfield on saturday.

( iread elsewhere that hill has ligament damage so thats him out for the season then if reported correctly !! )

just realised-i may be getting my Lombardo's and my Langiano's mixed up.whatever the game was-i am sure they both featured

Dan made his debut against Harrow in 2009 and did play at right back (if memory serves me correct was subed at half time). Lombardo was on the bench.

Who can forget kenny pratt charging into Andre Baptiste (served him right).

Michael - Wellsie defiantly wrote that . I can absolutely promise you that . I can't remember what the topic was called but it was posted by Wellsie and it started with a long post. Several posts later by myself and Wellsie and thats when he said that. I even asked him then about it just to clarify and he repeated it.

If I had the time I would go back through and find it - I think its now locked (whatever that means).

Anyway Wellsie will know so can confirm it again .

Returning to saturdays match-can someone explain to me why Curtis robinson did not venture into the opponents penalty box for free kicks and corners.

Obviously someone has to guard the half way line against a breakaway; but it seemed odd to me- that i can only assume Mr Raine - has asked him to 'stay back' ;yet he is one of our best headers of the balln and has scored the odd goal from such situations !

Lost on me that one-but i am sure there is a logical explanation somewhere.

(similarly-as i was `at the hartsdown end at the time-i persume our injury time equaliser was correctly ruled out )

At no point have I said the club will "always" sack anyone. I may have alluded to the club having the right to sack / not renew contracts when targets aren't met, but I certainbly don't recall saying that there could ever be a fixed time line. I'd suggest there was some misinterpretation of my post. If anyone can find it, I'd be happy to correct / re-state it. My guess though is that it fell foul of the IO'C threads clear out.

I've also tried to share my perspective (earlier in this thread) on the challenges of getting the right man for the longer term. Someone else didn't seem to like what I said but there you go, doesn't make my point of view any less valid.

Still interested in knowing if your comments (earlier in this thread) were official or unofficial and did they relate to any "failed Manager" in particular. Or maybe you were talking in "general terms"?
