A Public Apology

Recommended Posts

I would like to just apologise for my recent post after the Hayes Gate match on Wednesday night.

My apology is aimed towards the league, the FA and the officials I feel I may have offended. Sometimes things get said in the heat of the moment and I fully regret any upset or offensive I may have caused to anyone involved. I would also like to apologise tomy club Feltham FC, Chairman Brian Barry and Manager Wayne Tisson for my actions. The thread I posted up were my wrong actions and thoughts and in no way were they the thoughts of Feltham FC as a club.

I am unsure of the Referee from Wednesday's match, but if he uses these forums and is willing to either private message me his number or I can give my number to someone at the CCL then I would also like to offer a personal apology over the phone.

Regards

Adam

Wattsy, went to have another look at your post and of course it's gone. All I remember was an honest account from yourself of the game and the refereeing performance. No abuse or allegations of cheating from what I can recall. I'm assuming pressure was put on to remove the post and apologise. Unless it wasn't true what you said (and I doubt that was the case), then I don't see what there is to apologise for.

If people aren't alowed to give an honest account on here (their own view, not that of their club), then what's the point of this forum? May as well call it a day now.

I did not see anything particularly out of order with your post, Wattsy. Clearly impartial but that's the whole point of an opinion!

All I would suggest regarding the grievances you raised was to ensure that your club put in a suitable report on the referee. I have heard of various cases of a club being very unhappy but always mark the referee _just_ high enough so they don't have the hassle of putting in a formal report.

I'd hope that if there was ever a place of an official (don't just mean a referee here, I include club officials!) using the language described then strong action would be taken. Respect goes both ways.

Wattsy, kudos for being man enough to post the apology that you felt needed to be given.

Wattsy nothing wrong with your post, you raised an important issue,Respect is a 2 way thing, and by an Official using inappropriate Language, the matter should be reported, and action taken against him, not you, which in my opinion seems to be the case.

SMUDGY, ITS A 2 WAY THING ! OKAY LETS HOPE THAT THE REF REPORTS EVERY PLAYER/S THAT THROW INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AT THE REF. THAT WOULD SURELY INCREASE THE THE FINE FUND !

WE HAVE TO BE LOGICAL HERE, THE REF IS SWORN AT FROM A DISTANCE, NOT DIRECTLY AT HIM SO ITS UPTO THE REF TO TAKE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION AND BELIEVE ME IF HE DID THERE WOULDN'T BE MANY PLAYERS ON THE PITCH ! SO TO ACCUSE A REF FOR THROWING SOME ABUSE BACK NO-ONE LIKES IT ! SO PLAYERS NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE ! IF PLAYERS WANT RESPECT FROM REFS, THEN MAKE SURE WE GIVE RESPECT BACK AND NOT ATTACK OR VERBALLY ABUSE THEM !

NOW I'M NOT SAYING THAT REF SHOULD USE SUCH LANGUAGE COS THEY ARE NORMALLY ABOVE THE PLAYERS IN THAT ASPECT, REMEMBER AS I SAID BEFORE REFS ARE SITTING DUCKS FOR OTHER PEOPLES DEFICIENCIES

AGAIN I COMMENT, WOULD ANY OF ''YOU'' PLAYERS BE A REF GETTING VERBALLY ABUSED WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT, I VERY MUCH DOUBT IT, INFACT THERE WOULD PROBABLY BE CASES OF GBH.......... LOL !!!

WE WILL ALL LOSE OUT IF THERE WERE NO REFS OR IF THEY ALL WENT ON STRIKE.................. SOME OF YOU MAY LAUGH AS YOU WILL, BUT JUST GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT BEFORE BELLOWING OUT SH*T NEXT TIME AT THE REF !!!

Nice Guy,Refs are sitting Ducks for their own deficiences, have been to many games in Div 1 where they have had mares, the fault lies with the Clubs, they complain on the day that they were atrocious, but when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets to complain they give him 61 points.Have also been to many DIV 1 Games where the Refs have been excellent. You however have never been to a Div 1 game, because you want value for money, which is your prerogative, but to say comments are sh*t is ludicrous.MANY OF YOUR POSTS ARE SH*T,AS ARE MINE,BUT WE STAND BY WHAT WE SAY BECAUSE WE ARE SUPPORTERS,AND NO ACTION CAN BE TAKEN AGAINST US FOR OUR VIEWS,WHEREAS A PLAYER SPEAKING HIS MIND,TRUTHFULLY I MUST SAY,HAS TO BACK DOWN FOR WHATEVER REASON.AS FOR SHORTAGE OF REFS THAT IS AN UNTRUTH,YOU ONLY HAVE TO SEE HOW MANY GAMES EACH REF GETS IN THE C.C.L.TO SEE THEIR ARE PLENTY TO GO ROUND,MANY GOOD ONES TWIDDLE THEIR THUMBS,WHILE INCOMPETENT ONES TAKE THEIR PLACE,LUDICROUS.

Fair comments Smudge but how many players have you seen have mares? Have their team mates/managers treated them with the same abuse that they do the ref having a mare. Unfortunately in most cases not.

Have to say also didn't see the problem with wattsys post, his opinion and would find it disappointing if his club asked him to delete.

I won't go into it any more, but for anyone in the game, maybe you should read this...

A STATEMENT ON THE USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING WEBSITES

(issued by the Football Association)

The FA has issued clarification to participants relating to the use of social networking sites, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook and internet blogs.

Participants can be defined as anyone actively involved in football as a player, manager, coach, referee or working within the game as an administrator or official of a club, league or other body.

Participants should be aware that comments made on such sites may be considered public comment, and that further to FA Rule E3, any comments which are deemed improper, bring the game into disrepute, or are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting may lead to disciplinary action.

Comments which are personal in nature or could be construed as offensive, use foul language or contain direct or indirect threats aimed at other participants are likely to be considered improper.

Participants are required to act in the best interests of the game at all times and should be aware of this when using social networking websites. Furthermore, participants are reminded that postings on social networking sites which they believe to be visible to a limited number of selected people may still end up in the public domain and consequently, care should be exercised with regards to the contents of such postings.

In addition, we would remind participants that social networking postings could also lead to civil proceedings being brought by affected parties.

I know, just shows even at this level you have to be cautious of what you say, as far as I'm concerned it's now case closed until I hear from the league etc
