Suppose it's because he played in the same Slough team as Steve Bateman (which I didn't realise) and has fond memories of the club.

Nice bloke and if I remember rightly, Martin was a pretty nifty left winger.. cannot remember if this was in the Mark Fiore era (or if Fiore was season-long injured at the time), which would have understandably limited his chances on the left flank.

 

Such a fortuitous season. We finished second, but were light years behind the Champions Enfield (who I recall spanked us 1-4 at Wexham Park in the run-in), but obviously were denied promotion and we benefitted.

[A Rebel and a Saint]

Some good articles in the papers today, including two good ones on the new stadium plans, with a great picture of Steve Easterbrook on the back of the Observer! Nice to have a Burnham manager being nice about us! Hoping for a good game tomorrow and 3 points.
