agree with you cardo , but i think they in certain situation there should be a case for re viewing the 4th place team as if bedfont this year or south park finish 4th they will miss by a couple of points maybe goal diff. and they are clearly good enough to go up. i beleive this would also make the premier league stronger as you would have 3 new team promoted and 3 very capable teams. and will get rid of the same teams that do there best but are always bottom 3 or 4 in the prem.

agree that offering it down as far as 9th in the wessex was ridiculous

Premier Division level? Why would that be? can that happen?Div 1 clubs who voted for a jolly, would not be happy surely.

But sponsorship for Whom,Guernsey F.C.£50k to get the away Teams there,£700k Playing budget.Wonder what odds Sporting Bet,are offering for double promotion 1/100 my guess.

i'm sure any team relegated because of 4th place being promoted would have something to say about this !!

Rules are there for a reason!

The rules are the rules. They should be black & white with no grey areas. The real solution is only to have teams at Step 6 that can be promoted to Step 5 - reading Whitelaw's recent post that is the Leagues intention in 2 seasons time.

If we came 4th i wouldnt want to go up, we all knew at the start of the season that you need to be in the top 3 to gain promotion. Even if Worcester Park stop a side from going up it makes no difference, at the end of the day the league table doesn't lie.

PROMOTION & RELEGATION TO & FROM THE PREMIER DIVISION AND CONSTITUTION 2011-2012

Promotion from the Premier Division

The champion club is eligible for promotion, subject to their ground meeting the requirements of Grade E, as determined by the Football Association.

If the champion club is unable or unwilling to be promoted, the second placed club will be considered but they will be up against any other second placed clubs in any other Step 5 leagues whose champions are not being promoted and those with the best playing records (points per game) will fill whatever vacancies there may be. (Please remember that there are more Step 5 leagues than there are promotion places available, so it is conceivable that even a champion club could miss out).

This process is entirely in the hands of the Football Association.

Relegation from the Premier Division

If you finish in the bottom three, you are in a relegation position and should expect to be relegated.

At this moment we have 21 clubs in the Premier Division, so we are one short. The Premier Division constitution for next season, hopefully of 22 clubs, will be populated by:

a. the clubs finishing between 1st and 18th position (less any promoted club)

b. any clubs directed to us by the Football Association: this could be either upon relegation from Step 4 or by transfer from another Step 5 league or (although not specifically anticipated) by promotion of a club from a Step 6 league outside of our normal feeders

c. the three clubs finishing in the top three positions in Division One, subject to the clubs concerned reaching Grade G by 31 March.

If, after all the clubs in the above three categories have been counted, there are less than 22 of them, clubs finishing in the bottom three of the Premier Division will be reprieved, obviously starting from 3rd bottom place, according to the number of vacancies.

At this stage we have no idea as to how many clubs, if any, will be directed to us by the Football Association but clubs seeking promotion from Division One need to be aware that, (for example) were we to have two clubs directed to us with no-one going up, that would give us 23, less 3 to be relegated, leaving 20. Thus, in that situation, there would only be two promotion places available for current Div 1 clubs.

It is hopefully an unlikely scenario, but it is important that you are aware of the possibility.

New Clubs Coming in to Division One

a. Clubs in the following categories must be accepted:

1. Any existing Step 6 clubs directed to us by the Football Association, i.e. any clubs given permission by the FA to transfer from another Step 6 Division

The present situation is that there are some Step 6 clubs who have expressed an interest in transferring into the League next season from other leagues and they have all been referred to the Football Association, via Mike Appleby, the Leagues and Clubs Manager. Their entry or otherwise into the CCL is thus out of our hands, although it would be anticipated that the FA would speak to us before reaching any final decisions.

2. Any club finishing in a promotion position (top two) in a Step 7 feeder league to the CCL, subject to the required facilities.

The entry of any clubs not falling within the above categories will be subject to a vote at the AGM.

No discussion has taken place as yet concerning the likelihood or otherwise of any relegation from Division One at the end of the season.

NOW WE ARE ALL CLEAR WHERE CLUBS STAND, SO IF GUILDFORD DO NOT MEET THE GROUND REGULATIONS, THERE IS STILL A POSSIBILITY THAT NEITHER CHERTSEY OR POSSIBLY CAMBERLEY WILL BE PROMOTED. WITH ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THE PREM (21) ITS POSSIBLE THAT SHOULD THERE BE NO PROMOTION, ONLY 1 (BOTTOM) TEAM WILL BE RELEGATED AND 2 PROMOTED FROM DIV 1. ? WELL THATS MY TAKE ON THE PROBABLES.....

UNLESS CCL PREM GO TO 24 TEAMS, SURELY GUERNSEY FC WILL HAVE TO START IN CCL DIV. 1 AS ITS UNFAIR THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE THE PLACE OF TEAMS IN DIV. 1 WHO HAVE BATTLED ALL SEASON TO GET PROMOTION, UNLESS OF COURSE MONEY TALKS AS YOU SAY, BUT WHAT BENEFIT DO THE CCL AND FA GET FOR PROMOTING A TEAM WITH VERTUALLY NIL AWAY SUPPORT, WHEREAS AT LEAST AFC DID HAVE AND I KNOW SAVED A FEW TEAMS FOR THE 2 SEASONS THEY WERE IN THE CCL.
