Ground grading!!!

Recommended Posts

Talking of ground grading and it's on topic as it's the PCC final venue ;) -

Farnborough FC in purchase of Darlington stand shocker!

http://www.farnborou...test&Itemid=196

May as well just go the whole hog and get the George Reynolds Arena shipped down :)

Just how many seats do the 700 Farnborough fans need?

You would have thought they would want to finish their 1000 seat PRE Stand first.

The latest press report on the Guildford City saga:

Guildford City Grading Appeal

MMNNN OH NO DOES THIS THAT MEAN SPECRUM WILL REMAIN IN CCL PREM

WOULD THINK THIS IS GOOD NEWS FOR CHERTSEY AND EVEN MORE INCENTIVE FOR THEIR FINAL FEW GAMES..... HOW WILL THE GUILDFORD PLAYERS REACT IF THEY CANNOT BE PROMOTED ?

NOT YET SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED, BUT AS SOME POSTS HAVE SAID BEFORE, THE FA HAVE NEVER ACCEPTED AN APPEAL REGARDING GROUND GRADING SO NOT LOOKING GOOD WHICH IS A SHAME FOR ALL THE EFFORT PUT IN

Been away abroad with work so have missed alot of the ground grading stuff. I Imagine the last few weeks will be interesting especially if guildford cant go up. Does that mean its between chertsey and camberley??

Not any more. Chertsey beat Camberley last week so, unless something really stupid happens, the title is between Chertsey & Guildford. If Guildford can't go up then it looks like Chertsey will as teams all over the country are withdrawing their applications to go up (Whitley Bay are rumoured to have decided this week they don't want promotion now) so second place will probably be good enough.

Having said that, Chertsey may win the league anyway.

I do feel for Guildford, seriously. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again - the top team should go up but the rules are there and every other team in the country has to follow them so there can be no exceptions. The rules are stupid at times though.

Whitley Bay are slightly ahead of Chertsey in the points per game stakes..... the one which decides which second place gets the nod (if Guildford fail in their appeal).

Whitley Bay P35 81pts = 2.314 points per game

Chertsey T P37 85pts = 2.297 points per game

If Whitley are still pursuing promotion they need to drop points in one of their games in hand. They have 7 league games and a Vase Final to finish. They have to play top place Spennymoor as well. Tough schedule for them.

Just looking on Whitley's site, ex-Chertsey player Steve Gibson has got a regular game for them this season which is nice to see.

It's changing every week but as of last Saturday there were only 11 leagues at step 5 with a team able to be promoted. Both teams in the Western League who've applied have withdrawn their applications, No-one from the Hellenic League was high enough in the league, and now it's possible no-one from the Northern League's going up.

You need to keep an eye on Wantage in the Hellenic League as well as Whitley Bay.

Another club falls foul of stupid ground grading rules.

Eastwood Town in the Conference North have been barred from playing in the play-offs as their 500 seats are in more than two stands.

Absolutley ludicrous.

Appeal at the FA dismissed, two directors of the club resigning and offering to sell the club for £1. The club are debt free and over £1 million has been spent doing things that weren't needed like reducing the slope on the pitch etc. although the directors have admitted to putting 300k into the playing squad this season.

There was some farce regarding Hampton & Richmond's seats a couple of years ago which was similar. I think they were allowed into the play-offs though.
