I've got two

1) The only way is up - Yazz and the plastic population

because we are going up.

2) Up where belong - Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes

because we are going to gain our rightful place back in the Ryman league.

Cleggy, Did he actualy sing/record the song at the supporters direct meeting....or was it a promise of a demo he recorded previously..either way i'll try to chase it up.

Billy's in australia touring at the moment, but i know a few of his 'people'....i'll get in touch, and see if they can shed any light on the said recording.

The borough of Enfield should have a team of conference standard or above......The running of EFC in the last decade, has denied us that right....As an Enfield team,We will fight to regain our rightful place, however much work and time it takes.

Lovely stuff- whilst I really do share your sentiments, to a certain extent; we, ETFC, have no divine right to anything except that we win on the field.

It was made VERY clear on Sunday in the Town Park, that very few people have time for EFC (sorry EFC fans) and were disgusted by what has happened to such a great club. HOWEVER on a positive note when people realised who ETFC were then they were pleased to stand, chat and put their hands in their pockets.

Lets hope we see ETFC bring Conference football to the boro, and hopefully with a song !!

No he wrote it for the FA's consideration as their anthem. In the end they chose "three lions on a shirt". When I met him I speculatively asked him if he'd done one and he refered to this demo tape that never was used ibn the end. He was going to send it to me, but maybe it was a legal thing or maybe he just forgot. I like his songs and it would have been interesting for the players to run out to something a bit unique. For all i know it might not have been that good - who knows. If the FA own the rights and didn't use it then maybe we could use our other contacts to get the rights.
