ETFC v Waltham Forest

Three points against an 'enthusiastic' Waltham Forest team who still had an opportunity to score even after we went one nil up. Credit where credit is due, they never gave up even though they lost to two cracking goals and a penalty. Shooting boots appear to have been found.

Question for everyone. Just why was their skipper sent off with a minute to go? Certainly spoils the his rest of the season for him.

I know it was a 1.00pm KO, but where have some of our supporters gone? Surely they cannot go shopping every Saturday!

1.00pm ko - crap time for those that have to "travel" to home games.

Should have tried for a Friday evening if they wanted to avoid the England match.

On the bigger picture of missing fans there have been a few good threads regarding "getting them back" and way to reduce prices or incentify adults to bring children with them.

There is a chance ( okay, maybe slim ) of a play-off place up for grabs, so why not target the 23rd April - St George's Day - a special home game.

Adults £5 - Children free.

Pleanty of time to get this in the local press, posters in the Town and in next weekends programme.

At the match hand out tickets for the "LAST game at Brimo" - Ticket holder free and bring along anyone / age - for £1.00p.

Surely we should be trying to get people along NOW - not wait until next Sept / Oct.

Just a thought !!

A team consistently winning would bring back some fans.

Still believe that buy one bring one free would help.

Why not adopt a school for a fortnight and have the youngsters be ball boys/girls on a Saturday with their parents coming in free of charge? Different school every two weeks.

Why not ask the players to play for free during the last week of the scheduled season and allow everyone in free? I am sure we would be able to cover the referee's fees.

10% off season tickets for next year.

Buy your ticket now for the first game at QE stadium for a Fiver?

Good time to give out details for next season regarding the new ground.

Good time to look at what other clubs do and start a new 'how do we attract people to our games thread'.

Good post regarding ticket prices however I cannot agree with your suggestion that we have a "slim"chance of a play off place. I believe that if we win all of our remaining six games, which we ought to do if we really want to stand a chance of playing in the premier division, then we will be in the play offs along with Harlow and, one out of Brentwood, Maldon, Sudbury, Romford and Wingate.

Harlow have a relatively easy run in,

Wingate appear to have lost the plot.

Brentwood,Sudbury, Maldon and Romford have to play each other with Romford and Sudbury also playing needham Market and Brentwood having to play East Thurrock.

I can see the play off places being settled on the last day of the season with, I hope, us being in the mix. As we have by far the best goal difference of all the challengers and for us to be there we have to win all of our last 6 games our rivals all have to get more points than us.

That's Easter Sunday so maybe not a good day but a good idea for another home match.

I agree with Steph, we have winnable games on paper and that should give our injury plagued squad hope of a Play off spot. As said already others need to play each other therefore points will be dropped elsewhere which we can hopefully capitalise on. Wingate/Maldon/Romford and Sudbury have shown they can unexpectably drop points against anyone which should put us on guard for our remaining fixtures.

Forget the Waltham Forest game as they were a dreadful side we could have scored 10 against, however our remaining games are

Redbridge home who have seen some improved results of late

Ilford home who have drawn with the higher positioned clubs of late

Thamesmead away which will be tricky

Cheshunt away which will be harder than it looks

away to Ware

home to Tilbury.

So long as our squad suffer no more key injuries I see us winning against Redbridge, Ilford, Ware and Tilbury. The games we need to play well in and take our chances in are Cheshunt and Thamesmead. I can see us winning all 6, but my logical law of averages say 4wins 1 draw and a loss which I believe may see us sneak into a play off spot on goal difference.

There you go who needs Mystic Meg.
