Prem Div Relegation

Recommended Posts

Having spoke to a few people on this there seems to be confusion as to what is happening. Is the Prem being reduced to 22 sides next season?

If so have the league set out how this is happening or are they just waiting until the end of the season to see if any clubs fold etc?

As one of the clubs down there at the bottom it would be nice to know a defined point we need to finish in to stay up.

Don't hold your breath for a definitive answer to this! I'd make sure that you finish 4th bottom! There is no way of knowing a this stage.

It has been stated that the Prem will go down to 22 clubs next season.

One possibility is that we lose a team through promotion, but don't have a team relegated into the Prem from above. If that happened it would be 2 up 2 down as usual between the Prem and Div 1. There always seem to be loads of reprieves at step 4 so this is likely to happen.

A maximum of 22 clubs for the Premier was mentioned at the AGM last year - I think it was driven by the FA rather than the league.

Beaconsfiled SYCOB or Northwood are possibles to come down to the SSML but as last year we'll have to wait for Step 4 constitutions to be sorted out first. It could be early June before promotion & relegation issues are decided between Premier & Div 1

At the agm it was stated that there needed to be only 22 teams in the league for season 2011-12

and that 2 teams would be relegated by finishing in the bottom 2 . This would only be changed if the teams who had'nt conformed to the ground grading requirements by MARCH were relegated for not having the correct gound grading .

Now thats an interesting one if you read what is required to operate in the PREMIER DIV

How many clubs actually have all that is required ? and would stand up to an FA inspection. (NOT LEAGUE INSPECTION)

IS ANYONE SWEATING ON COMPLETING WORK BY THE 31ST MARCH.........

It is meant to be 22 teams next season for sure,

I wouldn't hold out any hope on the ground grading situation, it was ignored last year. Its a fact when you looking at the ground grading guidelines, some grounds at both prem and div one clearly don't comply, yet were ignored, The interesting thing is that has been noted by the FA, they are well aware, but their hands are tied, resources are thinly spread, we are too low down the ladder to be policed properly.

The sad thing is for the clubs that do comply, and have taken the time money and effort to comply on every point.

The thought that the old Viking sports ground is being spoken about as a possible venue at step 5 after last season Tok Manor issues is laughable.

after last season Tok Manor issues is laughable

What issues, everything was fine until London Colney came calling on 21 April, a week or so before the end of the season

So half an inch wide cracks all over the pitch isn't a problem? Let alone dugouts barely off the pitch and trees overhanging the pitch by at least a foot aren't problems either?

Squeak - Isn't that an exaggeration, it's strange that Holmer Green didn't bat an eyelid two days earlier, professionally rolling up their sleeves and just getting on with it
