Disappointed, but actually expected us to struggle a little tonight in this game after remembering the 3-3 on a Tuesday night last season with Sam Bateman's last-gasp header and Barton having some decent results of late, even beating Hitchin away.

That said, we need to win these types of games if we want to be in the play-offs. Think we have a good squad, but for me we've gone a bit stale over the last few weeks and grinded out results in many games. Would like to see one, or maybe two additions to the squad in midfield or attack to give us a boost for the run in (like we did with Adam Martin this time last season). That said there's no point in bringing in players just for the sake of it. If we do bring anyone in they need to be better than what we have.

I'm afraid there were no positives from tonights game.

There was only one team who wanted to win the game and it wasn't Slough. Out battled from start to finish.

I really don't want to say any more about the game because I'm absolutely gutted after such a spineless performance.

You are right that of late we have grinded out results. I know there is no excuse for a team hoping to make the playoffs but perhaps we have got a bit of fatigue setting in.

There is no doubt that the first 11 started by bateman are quality but maybe we should mix it up a bit more and keep things fresh. I think we have quality players in the squad who can easily fit into the first team.

Also how about Tony Mendy?? this time last year Mo came into the squad and showed spirit and hunger which is what you get from a young talent. With Mendy scoring two hat tricks recently for the youth id like to see him given a go.

We have a quality squad and a lot of games to play in April. Lets mix it up and make sure everyone is a part of our success of reaching the playoffs

I think we can knock the fatigue excuse on the head.

Barton were'nt fatigued last night. On the night Barton were superior in every department and they really should have won by a wider margin.

All of the top teams won last night and how long has it been since Daventry lost a game? I don't see any 'fatigue' creeping in there.

With all the tough games we've got coming up I think Saturday could be the pivotal game in our season.

Reading.....

All im saying is that SB likes to pick roughly the same starting line up for every game.

Maybe others should be given a chance. Look how good Herron has been coming into the squad.

I know fatigue is not really an excuse but it happens and can explain a lot.

i didn't go to the game but did fear if we wasn't right up for it that we would struggle

think with the games coming up thick and fast we must start rotating a bit more rather than going to almost a predictable 9 or 10 starters every game. for Logie surely deserves a start soon he has barely made an appearance for whatever reason. Byrne, Porter and Abbey all good players that without more games soon will be nowhere near match fitness or be even looking to leave

anyway not ideal to lose but its not all totally lost. 6 wins outta 9 shows we are good enough to be in the playoffs but way its going even replicating that sort of form may be running it close

Probably fed up of the moaning on the forum after winning games and thought "Whats the point?"

Personally Tom, I think your dis-respecting the players we have at this club if your suggesting poor performances are linked to comments made on a football forum.

I'm not.

I'm trying to make the point that if I was a player I might be thinking what is the point of playing for a club who's fans generally seem to get on the back of the management and players at every opportunity.

Tom, my point is if the players did feel that way, they would have difficulty finding any club to play for because we are no different to most fans at other clubs.

Also, I would personally like players at this club who can take the negative comments about how they've played (without getting personal) who then have the backbone to come out fighting to show the fans that they are wrong.

Tom, if I was a player, I would certainly be trying to take some of the comments on board and try to improve my game, and perhaps prove one or two people wrong.

It's rather worrying that they seem to be so easily affected by what a few people say on an unofficial messageboard.

Nigel .... Yellow card ! to you ... its getting a bit boring this repetitive ..people who have no knowledge of the game .. quote...

Its becoming a 2 person debate at times...not good for you or the club ...

please all respect peoples views , but the singling out out of individual players must stop...this helps no one... IMO

We can be passionate and have our thoughts about the game in general and must be allowed to voice these ...its a part and parcel of the football supporter !

We must not hound players or supporters out !

now back to getting the Rebels back on line Saturday ...and some unity in the ranks... UP THE REBELS..
