Can't recall to be frank. There is, despite this latest change, more stability (though I accept it doesn't look like it) in recent years. We refuse to accept the accusation that we are the worst though, because I am sure some other chairmen are more trigger happy. Locally, probably, we are the prime exponents of "The King Is Dead, Long LIve The King" syndrome. One season saw us have four managers, but not in this league. Steve Cordery has been in charge at STFC for ages, and it would be nice to think that sometime soon we may be able to replicate their success. For a whole two seasons, not so long ago, we were their equals but we went backwards and they went forwards. It sticks in my craw to be using Staines Town as an example but we'd rather be where they are, and so would every CCL club, I am sure. At least our chairman realises that putting himself in charge is the way to hell; the one and only time he sat on the bench we got dicked 0-9 at Camberley on the first day of the season. Why was he there? The Noad brothers who were supposed to be in charge had gone on holiday. They did not last long. Don't ask me who took over though. The new men have 11 games, starting with possibly the hardest (GCFC away tomorrow) to have a look at their squad. We heard that Adam Foulser has gone, but that this seems to be coincidence as he signed, we were told last night, for Bedfont Town on Wednesday. We shall miss him, and his dad Colin, cos they are both great blokes. I hope Adam comes to his senses and rejoins us (again) soon. James Hennessey has returned to Godalming Town (six goals in five games is not bad, so thanks to him for two stunning hat-tricks at Cove and home to Bookham - good luck to him) and we understand, and pray hard, that Matt Grave may be on his way back to us. If Charlie Muldowney can get fit and get his attitude fixed then we will see John Pomroy scoring regularly again. He has been struggling recently - it was looking like it was beginning to click at Ash with Hennessey; now we will probably never know how that partnership would work in the long term.

JH turned out against us in a pre season friendly for Dorking Wanderers. There were some highly inflated figures being banded about how much he got to sign of for them and how much each week

Just for the record Adam Foulser has not signed for Bedfont he has just asked to be released by Egham.

He has curently not signed for anyone.

Not sure they were that inflated! :)

John was at Merstham as player/coach at the start of El Gaffer's reign. Really good ballplayer and lovely bloke off the pitch. Went to Dorking Wanderers for work/money reasons. Turned out again for Merstham just before Graeme left the helm. Good luck to him in his new role.

I await loads of 'denials' from Nomads supporters that monitor this site.

john is a good lad,i've known him since he was an apprentice at fulham, many years ago! he has been coached at a high level and will no doubtedly bring that experience with him.if he can keep the side together add a few players of quality, not too many.from what i've seen he needs a forward to work with pommers(gravesy would be pertfect),a keeper and someone to replace the ariel ability of foulser.in ginger, karle, bentley, tom martin, pommers, houghton, charlie muldowney he has the basis of a good side! not forgetting oaksey who will always give you 110% whatever!

my worries are that some of the players don't get on with noady,as he can be firey and that could be a problem for the new manager,it says on the web site that they are a team of 3,well i reckon mr passmore will be part of the 3,whose the 3rd? too many cooks?????

i hope he doesn't rip apart the side as i said above they're a good bunch!

looks like my plan of possibly going back to egham has gone a bit pearshaped,so i'll be looking for trials in august after i return from injury.

finnaly all the best to roy butler and steve baker in their new direction wherever it takes them and to john and his 2 assistants

... and there you are again. On whose case? What mistakes? You are a fine one to talk! Anyway, what can I say? I had never heard of Mr Hampshire until yesterday evening so have nothing to offer that has not been offered by others more qualified. You could do the same and save us all the trouble of biting back!!! Before I went to see Pat Bennett to hear his explanation for the Baker sacking I only guessed Wayne Noad's linking with the club because of the suppositions I saw on this site. Get your backside over to Egham Town, get to know us and maybe this nastiness can stop. I for one am getting sick of it but I will bite if I or my club are slagged off.

Anyway, I am pleased to read so many positive comments about our new supremo. Pearcey is right; we have a good crop of players and although I would question what he seems to say about Justin Gray. I think he is a decent keeper, but who can be better than Pearcey??? You are welcome back any time mate.
