More Fixture Help

I recently asked for some help identifying the date of an STFC fixture, Thanks to WindsorRebel for helping me out with that 1.

 

I now have another game I’m trying to find out the date for. Unfortunately I have less info than the last game.

 

Back in the early nineties Slough played Northwich Victoria away. From Memory Slough won the game.

 

I only ended up at the game, as I travelled up from slough to the Manchester area to see Stockport County v Burnley. That game turned out to be all ticket and we couldn’t get in, so looking through the paper saw Slough just down the road at Northwich.

 

We got there late but still got to see all the goals, I have searched through my old Burnley programmes for when the Stockport fixture was, however historical Slough fixture lists are somewhat harder to come by.

 

Stockport played Burnley on the 22nd august 1993 and Slough was away at northwich a week later. (I have a Slough programme for that season and looked at the season’s fixtures) Could this be a mis print of the date as it does seem very coincidental that the 2 fixtures I am looking for were so close together? I was definitely only up there for the day I have also found that there was a game on New Years Day 94 but it could not have been that as we went up on the train and there were no trains on Bank Holidays back then.

 

The reason I’m searching is for the match day programme, as going through my collection I have 4 missing of games I went to but never got the programme for and this is 1 of those 4 fixtures.

Unless anyone else can help you, the person you need to speak to is Alan Smith. He is the man with all the Slough stats over the years. He is normally at all Slough home and away games.

It was the sept 1993 game I went to. Shows how good my memory was as I thought Slough won the game.

Now for the hard part in tracking down a programme.
