Should the C.C.L.?

I confirm that the League has no objection to clubs bringing matches forward to Friday evenings, the only conditions being that a. they do it in sufficient time to allow match officials to be appointed (there is actually a rule covering this) and b. it is mutually agreed between the clubs concerned.

I don't think there has ever been a request to play on a Sunday, which for the reasons given, would be less popular, but I see no reason why it shouldn't be considered if anyone asked.

Think thats the best way forward dont rule anything out. leave it to clubs own needs. if a sunday game works for both parties, why not. lets just hope guernsey, fall in, with the never on a sunday call.coffee%20%282%29.gif

After playing my first Friday night fixture against Warlingham, to be fair it was a great atmosphere & biggest attendence i've played in front of before. Plus was able to possibly have a saturday to do something else for a change!

The only down side was a weeks worth of work outside, on my feet all day and having a game of football (and being it a local derby) on the evening where I prefer to rest up for the usual Saturday game.

Sundays like Jurg said, gave up Sunday football for a reason.... to Sleep!

Reserve team managers should be aware that when you win a local derby game on a Friday night, the post match celebrations can have a knock on effect to the ressies team performance on the Saturday as we discovered this weekend!

Having said that you'd obviously take the 1st team victory and the consequences of the club celebrations every time.

Odd you didn't mention this Richie.......................

Not my fault we don't have a permanent reserve keeper!

I do anything to help my club out, be it in the 1's or ressies! I got asked to play straight after the warlingham game, but already had plans to go out regardless of the warlingham result.

But I must say this... I was on the receiving end of goal of the season from Frimley Greens centre bk (I think) an 70+ yard lob!!!!

It was a truly incredible goal... Spoke to player after & he insisted it was a tackle that was obviously well timed!

JJ's was more technical from what I've seen. This was just pot luck and a little bit of help from mother nature!

Bookham played a FA vase game on a Sunday a few years back against Frimley Green, quite enjoyable, until the replay hey SL :brille008:

It was odd playing on a Sunday, but the game was very entertaining, 3-3 aet. The replay was miles better though :waytogo:

On the topic of Friday night games, think there great idea's and proven to work. We're trying to move our game on the 30th April against Hartley Wintney to Friday as we have the cup final on Monday 2nd May, but i do believe that the 29th is also a Bank Holiday so may be a 3pm KO. I will confirm when its confirmed.coffee%20(2).gif
