Experiment with having 1 Friday and 1 Sunday Fixture each week next year. After the success Crowd wise at Warlingham last Friday surely it must be worth a try. Do you see any drawbacks that could occur,or reason it could not be tried.

Yes have to agree I think the Friday game is a great idea but Sunday maybe not as im sure a lot of the Junior football takes place on Sundays and Fathers/Grandads like to go and watch the children.

Think its a great thought. only problem quite a few of these players play sundays. not a major problem but a thought. but what

an un taped fan base. remember it was never going to happen in the pro game. but have to say, cant see the CCL powermen,

even considering this for 1 min.coffee%20%282%29.gif

The CCL have never had a problem with matches being played on a Friday. It is down to individual teams and whether or not players would be available. Sundays is very different, if players are not playing, they are just as likely to be coaching, managing or watching kids etc. I personally think that derby games are great for a Friday night. Can't wait until The Mighty Knappers get going in the evenings.

Will be pushing local sides i.e south park, worcester park and again farleigh for friday night fixtures next season. Proved to be a great success attendance wise with 154. I would also personally agree with sunday fixtures but with a 3pm kick off in order to allow the junior football to finish in the morning and hopefuly attract bigger family support and junior players and managers.

I know that we at Cove will be looking into this next season (friday night), but i have to say that Sundays cant be a good idea surely?

Not only are you competing with Sunday mens football, Junior football, but also Premier League football on Sky Sports. The idea is to get higher numbers through the turnstile! Sundays would not work in my opinion.

Agree re Friday night fixtures (not sure why Cobham haven't tried it as yet!), and certainly when it comes to local derbies, but don't think it would be a good idea for Sunday (I gave up Sunday football for good reasons) and can't see the CCL going with the Sunday idea.

Ladies Legues also play on a Sunday. Pretty sure DFC wouldn't entertain Sundays, and Friday nights seems a bit iffy as well !

Scenario at Meadowbank. SUNDAY: DLFC at home: TUESDAY: Bookham at home. FRIDAY: DFC at home. SATURDAY: Bookham at home. THEN SUNDAY: DLFC at home.

Somehow, I don't think the pitch would take it, even in GOOD weather.

Fridays are good if used sparingly. I would say any given Friday could only have a single fixture, to help maximise attendance and also a maximum limit of Friday games as the home team per season.BJR - the scenario you give wouldn't happen as the Friday night fixture would be bringing forward the Saturday fixture, so Bookham wouldn't be at home next day.

Exactly T.R.S.,Maybe 1 Premier,1 Div 1, game, but not in the same area, nowadays I hate seeing say Raynes Park/Colliers Wood playing on the same night at home, defeats the purpose for 2 close Clubs,in raising revenue.Likewise Farleigh/Warlingham being both at home on the same day.

After playing my first Friday night fixture against Warlingham, to be fair it was a great atmosphere & biggest attendence i've played in front of before. Plus was able to possibly have a saturday to do something else for a change!

The only down side was a weeks worth of work outside, on my feet all day and having a game of football (and being it a local derby) on the evening where I prefer to rest up for the usual Saturday game.

Sundays like Jurg said, gave up Sunday football for a reason.... to Sleep!
