Ambition

This started to be debated in the decisions and facts thread-not quite sure why that was locked as to me;the debate was going somwhere.

 

Must admit i have sympathy for the board as there is an element of mild critcism for them being too ambitious;yet on other postings both recently-and certainly in the past they get criticised for having no ambition !!

 

That given, as per that thread; whilst concurring that results have been decidely average-and probably the side have underperformed given the resources;(not as much as under trott however),there is progress (and stability ) over the last two seasons (how many players did yorath bring in ?)and mid table to me is just about acceptable.

 

The irony is-just last week ,i posted that next season for me-did have to be the 'big push'-not the play offs which is a lottery anyway-but quite simply next season was about winning the league and nothing else-the time had come .

 

Now- i have gone backwards in my expectations for next season-and frankly-for me-next season will be about a top half finish again.

 

No matter what-it does take managers more than one season to achieve the desired results-so now, instaed of getting us out of this league in 2011/12,; i have delayed my expectations until 2012/13.

 

That is not to say that i disagree with any decision to part ways with IOC (as long as it was not purely results based ),but simply; it does take time to get ones feet under the table in any job ;and to 'grow the team'.

 

Disappointing that we will have to wait one further year;but slow steady and contiued progress is muxch better than a short term high-not as sexy-but better in the long run.
