SURREY SENIOR CUP Q/F.

Smudge

Recommended Posts

I believe the Entrance Fee tomorrow night is £10 adults,£6 concessions. No wonder then there was only 49 v Croydon.GREAT VALUE I THINK NOT. GREEDY MORELIKE.

I think the cost is a factor Smudge but in the last couple of years they have put out, well not even their reserve side, and it is that, that really rankles!!

Don't think they have a designated "Reserve" side just 1st team squad and Academy. The side they put out against Badshot Lea last season were mainly 1st teamers, but they were sulking because Dipre had just terminated the contracts of 2 well-liked players - Paul Honey was one, can't remember the other. The manager then was Francis Vines ex Crawley Town & Farnborough FC - he lasted all of 5 months before Dipre got shot of him and appointed Mark Butler

SOUNDS LIKE BECOMING ANOTHER EGHAM TOWN, BUT HE CAN'T FIRE HIMSELF OR CAN HE..........HA HA !

Managing the Club you put money into has many drawbacks, as I'm sure ChertseyTown will verify.....

Still a reserve team though aren't they if if they are made up of academy youngsters? The Suburban League is a reserve team league.

Also Paul Dipre is not and has never been Chairman of Carshalton Athletic (in much the same way as Mazhar Majeed is not chairman of Croydon Athletic). What a pedant.

Farmie you are correct as Always,Alan Walker is the Chairman, but Dipre runs the show,to his liking.Similar to Mahzar Majeed at Croydon Athletic who as you rightly say was not Chairman, but he ran the show also.Money rules the roost, all doomed to eventual failure for sure.

As my local side(Carshalton), I supported them as a boy.Played for the ressies as a youth/young man and and had a few games for the first team before I went on to play in the Southern League on a more regular basis. I loved the club then as I do now, and as all of you know, your team is your team and it is in your blood. What is happening to Carshalton has been, in my opinion ,very similar to the senario at Egham, albeit that the Egham senario has been going on for a few years more. When someone takes over your club and runs ruffshod over all and sundry, it is very hard to take. What has happened to the manager, will happen time and time again.I do know a little about the club as I was 'involved' a bit a few years back when 'Payney' was there and know that it is a truely great club with great support.

The fans at Carshalton staged a 'revolt' on Saturday and, I believe intend to to so 'ad infinitem' and I support them whole heartely, the problem is, until the real fans gain control of the club, they are a rudderless ship. This I fear will not happen until they (Carshalton) are in the CCL and free of this meglamaniac. If that is the case then so be it, but being already in the CCL how low will this once, great club (Egham) have to fall before the can jettison the dead wood that threaten their future?

The fans who revolted tonight by abusing Paul Dipre for 90 minutes, did their Players no favours at all,Their only chant regards the Players was 'WE ARE ONLY HERE TO SUPPORT THE PLAYERS.But what has he given your Club,a Nice Ground,Decent Bar at fair prices,Excellent Playing Surface,Nice Clean Toilets,a Clubhouse that is used 7 days a week which in turn increases revenue,Regular events at the Club,Comedians,Car Boot sales,Regular Sunday Roast that Families can eat together,Giving the youngsters a chance to play on adjacent Pitches to the Club, all of which Carshalton never had before,it was becoming like most Clubs Ramshackle.Suggest that you and the other protestors put your money where your mouth is and buy him out,30 x £20,000 should do the trick=£600,000 TAKE OUT A LOAN.you donated £300 tonight between you towards the cause.

I agree Smudge – it's easy to stand on the terrace and throw abuse at the man whose money has propped them up for the last few years. He's been paying a playing budget of £5K a week (now £4K) and has had results from his managers which could best be described as "mixed".

As you rightly describe, he has done a lot for the club's infrastructure to make it a going concern rather than a rich man's plaything which would collapse the day he walks away. And the people going through the turnstiles and wave their flags probably overestimate their own contribution to the club's financial wellbeing.

On the other side of the coin, rightly or wrongly Mr Dipre does come over as a hard-nosed businesman used to getting his way and running the club as he would any other business. But a good businessman would tell you that you can't keep treating your customers with contempt and, as with so many club owners in the past, he seems to be falling back on the fact that customer loyalty within football is like no other customer loyalty on earth.

Changing the club crest is in itself no terrible sin – but the new one is vile. Changing the club coloours from maroon to red is just wrong. Banning people who disagree with him is counter-productive. He does need to learn to listen and this is what he does worst.

Well done Molesey.

My suspicion is that when they first totted up the numbers they added in season tickets which should not count to an FA competition. Either that or they are seeking to fiddle Molesey out of some money...

Spoken like someone who has read the Paul Dipre book on all things bullshite. If you had taken your head out of Dippy's backside long enough you would have heard many songs/chants supporting the players on tuesday night. The supporters don't have a problem with any player.

So lets examine your points one by one:-

A nice ground?...well admittedly he has erected a few metal containers but I agree an improvement.

Decent Bar?....On the face of it yes...but a bar with no atmosphere, all the memorabelia removed on his orders, a bar where cameras watch every move of the patrons (illegally I might add since there are no signs advising that cameras are in use!)....in fact very few people use it.

Excellent playing surfice??...now u really are having a laugh...slightly better than a council pitch?

Nice clean toilets?....Never used them

Clubhouse used 7 days a week?....Dont be silly...open seven days a week...but used?

Comedians?....Yep With Dipre top of the bill!

Car Boot Sale?...You really are scraping the barrel now.

Sunday Roast?...Last I heard about 5 people attended...food thrown away

Now lets get one thing straight, Paul Dipre has NOT put any money into the club...he has created and issued equity in the company that he has purchased. On his departure he can sell those shares. He has also loaned the company a sum of money which he can "call in" at any time. He has given the club NOTHING.

He is a proven liar (He lied his way into the club), he is a bully (he sends abusive emails to 16 year old children!), he tries to intimidate people, he is a thoroughly nasty piece of work who thinks anything is up for sale including players loyalty (He's just increased the players money!)

Rude, ignorant and arrogant are only his good points.

He has consistantly undermind managers, interfered in team affairs sending previous managers texts emails and making phone calls telling them the team they should select, formation and tactics. All this from a man without the coaching badges to back it up and only has experience in boys football.

I could go on...and, by the way, the evidence exists to prove the above.

Any more questions?

Never spoken to Mr. Dipre in my life, think you ought to live in the real world,so the Players Budget that has kept Carshalton in the higher echelons of the Ryman Premier has not cost him a penny. The Ground improvements that has turned Colston Ave. from a Ramshackle run down ground into what it is now,a very welcoming ground from the Car Park to the Loo's has not cost him a Penny.Who owns the ground,is it not the Local Authority,(although I do stand to be corrected on this as I am not 100% certain)so he cannot build on it in anyway. So by my reckoning who would buy his shares, what would he be selling.Has he not set up involvement with the Community Schemes re:- Younger Children being able to play adjacent to the Club, thus bringing them into the Club as a whole, thats a first and to be Welcomed.I speak from experience as I used to run an U16 side who called themseves Carshalton Athletic 13 years ago,we played our Home Games in Mitcham, but were not allowed in the Clubhouse for Meetings, end of season do's etc.I think that has changed now also. You cannot live on your past History we are in the year 2011,Money has to be made from other revenue streams bar Football, you have already confirmed how selfish you are,by informing us that you do not use the Loo's,this tells me that you do not partake of a Cup of Coffee,or a Beer or 2 in the Clubhouse, unless of course you have a very strong bladder. As for your unofficial Carshalton Website, which I must tell you I was banned from during Hayden Birds (I have won nothing) reign as Manager,I did not hear you moaning when you almost made it too the Conference South, with what must of been a very BIG BUDGET,Funded by Mr. Dipre for sure oh and his shareholders.Must say your songs the other night did make me Laugh, likening your Manager to Gaddafi was a poor shout though, all you are going to achieve is getting banned from the ground, which you want!!!!!!!!!!!! Which in my mind,I would do if I was Mr.Dipre,or as your all so loaded set up A.F.C. Carshalton as a breakaway Team.

Smudge - you're losing it - your touch that is.

How can you allow someone to come on here, have a pop at you with his 1st post (well 2nd if you count the aborted one), without subsequently embarrassing him into becoming a GOLD member. Come on man, get a grip wink.gif

By the way, welcome RIM
