Maidstone 0 Ricay 2

Excellent away win for us today, although we didn't half make hard work of it.

First half wasn't great but we had a great chance to go in 1 up but Micah saw his pen. saved by Walker after H had been fouled. Lost Wildy early in the piece after a clash of heads. I'd back Wildy in the re-match though. Cous went inside and Junior Luke got pressed into service at left back and had a very good game I thought. Well done to him.

Second half we got more and more on top but after missing some gilt-edged opportunities it looked like Carshalton all over again as it was difficult to see Maidstone getting more than nil. Jay May was anonymous for them with both Cous and Flanners doing well.

Crucial change - Booty on for H and Lawson out wide. Lawson looks a miles better player when attacking from wide areas and Booty demonstrated the benefits of actually playing with a striker on the pitch with a nice finish after a bit of a gaffe earlier. Last kick of the game Booty squared for Charlie Allen to side foot home. I thought Allen and Micah looked a very good combo in the middle.

It looks like being a really exciting end to the season with so many teams in the shake up. Onwards and upwards. Well done lads!!

With Maidstone elbowing thier Manager Andy Ford, and then appointing the players popular Captain Jay Saunders, this was always going to be a very tough game.

Make no mistake, gaining three points at their gaff was a big ,result

Well done lads.

Next up Cray, and then Bury, how BIG are these games!.

Made a meal of it yesterday but got all 3 points in the end any away win is a good one.

In all fairness if we would of had our shooting boots on we could have probably won by 5.

Onwards and upwards now 1 defeat in 14 top effort fella's try and keep it going for Tuesday night.

Could have been a proper banana skin, but we kept plugging away and won through with two of the best team goals of the season.

Booty up front is still a first class finisher and his movement off the ball made all the difference when he came on.

Agree with above postings Charlie and Micah look like they could become a fantastic pairing, with Charlies goal well worked and well deserved.

Cray on Tuesday and who knows, it could be 2nd v 3rd next Saturday!

Well done boys!

I believe that is what we have to do...keep plugging away. We've been doing that all season and are reaping the rewards. As regards effort, I don't think we can fault the team.

I strongly believe that if we play Bootie in the centre and Lawson on the wing, we will start making it easier for ourselves up front. Lawson works harder on the wing and has a record of scoring goals from that position. With his delivery, Bootie will start hitting the net.

Agreed on the above that Lawson looks far better out wide and that Allen and Hyde could be a solid partnership in the middle. Next two games are massive, we could go 3rd tomorrow night and put pressure on all those below. Would be nice to see a decent away following.
