Rebels 2 NGU 1

I felt ashamed to be part of the crowd today; there were times when I felt certain sections were willing our players to fail rather than get behind them.

I agree with you Mark, certain so-called fans slating Stuart Swift were well out of order. It seems to me that some of our so called fans are not happy unless

they are on the case of one player or another. idiots.

Funny thing is Windsor, the same ones slating Stuart Swift were probably the same ones clapping when he picked-up his player of the month award a few months back. Sometimes I do wonder about a small % our 'SUPPORTers' if that's what you call them.

Seems it's Swifty's turn now, last season it was Simon Martin - and didn't he walk off to a song behind chanted behind the goal Saturday? How things change...

Luckily though it is only a very small percentage.

I would just like to clarify exactly what I meant by my comments regarding Stuart Swift as some people on both threads are appearing to get rather hysterical about some people's opinions.

My point was that some players seem to get left in the team regardless of form, and I think that Stuart Swift is a prime example of this. I said he had a stinker on Saturday, and I stand by this. I did not mean that he has a stinker every game, as this is far from the case; it's just that I feel that he never gets substituted when he's not making a great impact on the game. By contrast, some players who are consistently good for us either get regularly substituted (as is the case with Chris Herron), or get left out altogether (as is the case with Sam Bateman and Adam Logie).

At the end of the day we got the points and that is the main thing. I really couldn't give a monkeys about goal difference at this stage. I can't see us sneaking us into the play-offs on goal difference two years running. We should be aiming to do it on points anyway.

Martin, I agree totally that we should aim to do it on points. But goal difference has been and can be a season-deciding factor. Sutton Coldfield Town have missed out on the play-offs on goal difference for the past 2 seasons (here, here) !

So just because Swifty isn't subbed 4 whatever reason does this mean it is the players fault??? and that fans should get on his back, NO!! I think questions need to be asked of the management in situations like this and rather then get on the back of players who maybe are having a dip in form, encourage them!!!!

I think I would rather trust the management to make the right decisions.

When players are substituted, as supporters, do we always know the reasons why they are taken off?

Could be for any number of reasons so I'd rather trust and leave it to the manager to make the right decision.

I think that part of the reason that Swift came in for some criticism was that (to my mind) he didn't look all that bothered on Saturday.

Not for the first tiem this season, he was also rather anonymous. As I said, it's not every game, but IMHO it's more often than not. It's a shame, as when he's played against us in the past he usually plays a blinder!
