I am sure it was the replay against Waford when the gate collapsed. I recall being outside when there was a long queue and suddenly alll hell broke lose as the gates fell in. I looked at the scru m and decided it was far safer paying to get in.

As for us not being giant killers when we beat Romford. I would suggest that it was as big a feat as Crawley this season with their ludicrous budget and they are considered "giant killers" after beating Swindon, Derby County and Torquay and have a bigger budget than any of them.

The gate definitely collapsed at your place in the first replay, and if my memory serves me correctly the official gate was 7000, although various estimates suggests it was up to 2000 more than that. I wonder if two non league clubs, playing each other in the cup will ever get an attendance like we had that night again?, and how did it all go so wrong for two former giants of the non league game.

It's good to talk or type, but I do agree that all clubs need young blood at their games week in and week out.

Got any suggestion's anyone, no matter how simple????????? Don't forget money is harder to come by these day's and there's a longer list of terms and condition's to be met.

Couple of suggestions that are simple but controversial because so many men think they have a god given right to F and blind to their hearts content as soon as they enter a (non league) football ground.

Suggestion number one is that all clubs have a zero tolerance on swearing, any supporter heard swearing is evicted from the ground, any player or manager/coach using bad language is preferably sent off, or substituted.

Suggestion number two is a total ban on smoking in all parts of the ground.

Just two simple ideas that might help to attract young families back to our matches.

I like the smoking idea but I can't see how that would help. All kids free of charge under 16 as they always seem to give money to the club shop and tea bar anyway but then that only helps if you run the tea bar yourself.

I think for our 1st home game in our new stadium we should have every supporter enter for only £1. If it is marketed and advertised everywhere (local papers, shops, websites etc) and every single person in Enfield and surrounding areas knows of this we could quite easily get a figure in the 800's for this game.

Once in we have a carnival atmosphere with plenty of pre match & half time entertainment and of course the lads putting in a 5 star performance and thumping our opponents. Hopefully then many of those 800 supporters (that i anticipate) will want to come back thus paying the 'normal' entrance fee for future games.

I remember Yeovil doing a promotion for all supporters (except away supporters for some reason?) paying £1 when we played them and if memory serves me correct the got a crowd of 8-9,000 which for a Ryman Prem game was fantastic.

Maybe i should apply for this commercial manager role with all these ideasdance%20(2).gif

Why not let everybody in for nothing and charge them £8 to get out . Given our home form I think they'd be climbing the walls by half time .help.gif
