What now ?

So everyone, more less, realises that we the fans can do nothing about executive decisions - it was ever thus and is the same at work isn't it ? However a groundswell of considered judgements might be useful possibly. I always had the same thoughts in my mind during every IOC game (and I have gone to some away matches as well) For example - why doesn't Wayne Wilson, who has a decent shot, get himself into the 'Paul Scholes' positions on the pitch at free kicks and corners. (I am sure that most people know what I mean by that) The number of times the ball has come out to that area just outside the penalty box inviting a swerving, dipping shot from such a player is evident at every game and Scholes has scored loads of goals in that manner. Why is there no one at the back of the box when Aaron takes a long throw and it invariably ends up there having been flicked on by someone from either side ? Tommy is starting to show himself adept at getting his head on the high cross balls and did it particularly well against Carshalton last week so the flick ons are there to be fed from. Do the players read these posts add pick something up from them or are we deluding ourselves. What about Radio Kent using the link 'following football in Kent' and never mentioning our games - so far today they seem to be unaware of the manager whirlygoround starting up again and not a word about today's fixture. Here's another thought to increase revenue - at Canvey away the 50/50 raffle was £102 (i.e. twice ours) despite a small crowd - the reason for this was simply that the tickets were offered at the turnstile by the same person supplying the match ticket and just about everyone handed over an extra quid to participate and the seller had his change arranged to make the transaction quickly so there were no delays to the queue. Can not our ground officials try this one out ?

Im sorry to have to disagree. Not everyone has the "spare" pound to spend so that must be taken into account here. People dont want to say "no thanks" & this could, although in a small way prevent people from wanting to come along knowing that they feel like they should be spending another pound.

They may either not want to or they can't afford to. It's intimidating enough I feel where tickets are sold at present without the added pressure of wanting to say "no thanks" but feel like having to say "yes please" as you enter the gates.

I can see where you are coming from with this suggestion but is it really fair.It could also be counter productive in the long run too. If someone wants to purchase a ticket then they will but for others they shouldn't feel pressured into doing so,even though that not be the intention. Moving the selling point to the turnstiles I feel is just one step too far.

In these times when crowds are low lets just be be thankful that they are coming to the game in the first place and are willing to fork out a tenner to support the team/club .

In response to other comments (see below) I am 100% in agreement with you on this.
