South Park 3-1 Frimley Green

After missing a few chances on Wednesday night Chris Smith bagged a hattrick, a depleted and tired Park took control going 2 up after 5 minutes, fair play to Frimley who got 1 back from the penalty spot in a very scrappy game. 2nd half they put some pressure on us without creating many chances, but we soaked it up and got the deserved 3 points.

Ash United 2 (1) Egham Town 1 (1). Ash United - Blason and Dalloway. Pomroy got ours. We looked listless and leaderless in a game I have no doubt we would have won had Baker still been in charge. Ash were worse than Cove and Bookham and we stuffed both of them. Good luck to them; they can only play what is in front of them and what was in front of them did not seem bothered. Both sides thought the officials were utterly crap.

Knaphill 2-2 CB Hounslow.

Brainch

Hodgsen

Gutted!! We were 2-0 up in the first half and just got far too complacent thinking it was game over. Fair play to CB for battling back however their goal scorer for the equaliser should have been sent off for a head butt 10mins before which somehow none of the officials saw.

Tempestward, worse than Cove and Bookham what Ash,but they won.So that makes Egham better than Cove and Bookham, but worse than Ash,today anyway. But hang on Cove beat Molesey today,so that makes Egham better than Molesey by your RECKONING,as you are better than Cove.Just except you lost to a better Team today NO EXCUSES.

VERY eventful day down at the Arena today.

Chertsey were very lucky not to be 2-0 at half time, and had it not been for a superb save by Bradshaw, then it would have been a different scoreline.

A serious injury in the final 10 minutes of the game saw David Moores of Croydon taken to hospital by ambulance. Moores went for the ball and a clash with someone caused a serious neck injury. Moores was on the floor and although concious said he could not feel his legs. Within five minute an ambulance arrived and it took a further 15 minutes before he was loaded on to a stretcher and inside. At 5.30 when I left the ground, Moores and ambulance was still pitch side.

Another incident was another injury to Scott of Croydon who had a nasty cut to his head, and for the second home game in a row the ref FAILED to stop the game to have the injury seen to. When he finally did he ordered the player off the pitch for treatment. Then the ref insisted on Scott staying off the pitch until he could see the injury. Once the game restarted Croydon played the ball out for a throw in a bid to get the ref to check the player and allow Croydon to get the player back on.

Now every time I have seen this in the past the opposition have returned the ball to the opposition but not Chertsey ... they played on and tried to attack. I find this DISGRACEFUL !!!!!!!

Chertsey scored two in as many minutes, and missed a penalty. It was a easy save for the keeper as the penalty was not a good one. Croydon pulled one back to 3-2 on the dying seconds and had the game gone on a few minutes more, I suspect they would have drawn.

All I can say is GOOD LUCK TO GUILDFORD!

Feltham 1 Sheerwater 0

We came out of this 'battle' with three points and i'll be honest here...We were fortunate!! On a bobbly pitch with possibly the worst referee's performance I've seen for some time, this meant that a 'football match' couldn't be played!!

Both side started out fairly even but the Sheers started to take slight control of possesion but didn't really create all too much except a header off the bar. Around hal an hour we played possibly the only real 'football play' from ourselves after I won a tackle and our centre midfielder drilled a low through ball with the outside of his foot, this unleashed our lightning young winger who wasn't being caught and laid the ball square for our forward to tap into an empty net, 1-0. The rest out the half was fairly stretched in truth, almost like it was the end of a game with both sides throwing bodies forward without really creating anything again.

Second half and this is where it became annoying and frustrating at the same time! The referee's linesman had 58 minutes on it at the end of the match and this game didn't see any player recieve treatment from either bench and wasn't a dirty game in anyway. The referee was very whistle happy and was giving odd decisions for no apparent reason and left both sides baffled at times and on nearly ever throw in decision he was going against the linesman on the dugout side which again buffled and annoyed both sides! He then started getting card happy, mainly with us and failed to play any advantages. I was suprised as normally we've had him he has been very good, but then also after the game apologised for, wait for it...'Having a bad day at the office'

Anyway back to the game. Sheers had the lion share of the second half and created a number of clear cut chances, from hitting the bar on two or three other occasions, even blazing over from two yards at one point with an open goal bearing down on the just on substitute and then again another solid display from our keeper making a couple of fine saves to keep the Sheers at bay. I did feel bad for them in a way, they deserved at least a point out of the game maybe more, but thats football right? Sometimes you win ugly when you don't really deserve (like we did today), then there are games where you dominate but don't get any reward. Normally teams at the top can play poor but come away with a 4-0 win, it never makes sense and I guess that's why we all love the game, because every game is different. Sheerwater are certainly not a poor side and we've played poorer sides who are in the top ten and if they keep going the right way with these same players then next season they will be ones to watch in my opinion!!

I was nice marking Young Veteran most of the game as I was moved from my right back role and into centre half for today and was struggling a little with an infected toe, but enjoyed it with a clean sheet to boot! I also met 'Cookie' aka Loop, which I've spoken to before but I haven't know who he is, what a decent guy! Had a good chat after the game and some little bits of banter during the game, certainly next time I'll buy them both a beer and have more of a chat with them, got a lot of time for people like that!

Now I'll stop waffling cheesy%20%282%29.gif
