DEREK
I liked IOC but results count, don't think it will be long before we have a new man. Also if you are going to let a manager go this could be the right time. It gives the new man a chance to get up and running for the next season. Not sure why we need three men in charge, but so be it lets give them all the support we can.
michael
Not sure where i sit on this. On one hand-i really believe continuity is all important and i thought the results were just about ok for this season. That given, was not overly impressed by his general management skills ,which to be fair to IOC is heresay in alot of instances. I think there are probably better managers available on balance. There was a bit too much of the 'trottlike' approach to management in IOC for my liking, but again-continuity and slow steady progress is all important ,so remain somewhat surprised. Ioc did make some poor signings-'too many mates'-interesting that the 'independent/unprompted press article does make reference to the likes of tait and sigere which most of us were 'surprised' at when signed. Am also surprised at the timing of this and the subsequent arguably adverse publicity and unsteadiness ,just when the club is negotiating for the redeveopment. In theory-unrelated matters. In practice-does the 'unsteadiness influence the council as to their thoughts of the running of MFC ?
Twist&Shout
I agree..bad timing..shows unsteadiness...but then on the other hand it shouldn't make a difference really..performances and results weren't there

blue balls
We "had" a squad more than capable of making the play offs (until we let almost our entire midfield leave)- we were great when we beat Sutton but then lost twice to the bottom team and therein lies the rub - no consistency and certain players clearly under performing and under achieving. Is IOC to blame or the players themselves? Realism says that we have found our level for now and that we have to accept the "glory days" of conference football is a distant dream at the moment. Nevertheless it is still so frustrating week in week out losing to teams we should be beating but thats football I guess! The end of the season cannot come soon enough. Pridders
They're getting on my nerves Pagey as well, I'm probably not going to bother responding to their posts soon, as better things to do than continually try and justify myself to those idiots when I don't really need to - they're the ones continually trying to petty point score. Well said Michael by-the-way, well thought out sensible post.

michael
Lots of talk re: the play-offs and what we should have achieved. To my mind-whats the point of getting to the play-offs anyway. You either need auto promotion or to win the play offs. just getting to them is no different to finishing 18th as there are no place prizes !! If the board were looking for the play-offs this season-was that sensible anyway. The infrastructure is not yet in place for a conf south campaign. How would the additional travelling and player costs be funded ? better wait one more year and' be ready',rather than rush things and get relegated straight away.
