Thats sad to hear Steve I can't believe the way some managers are being treated as you say your track record at Egham is very good, is there a third party waiting in the wings me thinks ?

Not sure mate but wouldn't be surprised.

If there is then maybe it will start to make sense.

Fecking gutted. Not only has Steve been stitched up, he has been knifed in the back by a chairman who spends most of his time in Portugal. I doubt Pat Bennett has seen more that 10 games all season. His eldest son spends time criticising team selections, and the call I got from his youngest son, Paul, indicated that the fact that some players spat the dummy was attritutable to the now departed manager. I have been, as I have said countless times, with the club (on and off the committee) for over 40 years. Pat Bennett has been the eminence gris since the early 90s when, according to a man who was then the club treasurer, he saved the club from going under. Since then, even despite that great start, I have had more than my fair share of rows with him, and I certainly disagree with him on this.

Under Steve we got an attacking policy that always guaranteed goals. I know we got stuffed a few times but then we adminstered a few beatings too. Steve is an amazing, honest and committed manager and I dread the day we come up against his next team. As for the next man, if he fails to get us to Step 4 in one season he might just as well not bother. Has the Leatherhead manager found a job yet???

 

 

Don't you think you should know all the facts before talking about stitch ups......however much you think you are in the know, believe me you're not.

There is 1 person who knows what this is all about and it's not you so this speculation and dummy spitting is a little mis-guided, no?

The things that i have found out in the last 24hours beggar belief and have showed the phrase "stich up" to be true.

All will be clear soon and i hope the individulas involved are happy with their part in this shambles.

When i name the person who has stiched me and what he has done his reputation will be mud.

For the record i have no issue with being sacked as that is the chairmans choice and i have loved my time at Egham but i have an issue in the way i have been treated and the lies that i have been told.

I f anyone just had the bolloc** to talk to me then we would have all left on good terms.

First of all let me say that my reply yesterday was aimed at tempestward not you Steve, I felt his words were unjustified and way too opinionated for someone who thinks he knows the craic but doesn't.

I am not here to tittle tattle. I am not someone from the club hiding behind a name as you suggest, I think we all know those at the club are very vocal and have no reason to "hide".

If you believe all that you have been told today then I would suggest waiting until all is clear and accurate before you name and shame and ruin someones reputation as you seem intent on doing. Your reputation has not been dented in any way shape or form, do you really feel the need to go down that road.

The truth will out in the end, rise above it, you are better than that are you not?

 

 

Please explain. If you think my support of Steve Baker has been wrapped up in some intemperate language or has offended anyone then please enlighten me. Pat will have to have some damn good explanation to soothe my particular savage breast, and even if the sacking was the right decision the timing alone is certainly open to question. As for the other stuff, I think I can deduce who is being mentioned. I won't say anything further because I don't have contacts with players or managers, and neither do a lot of the guys on this forum, I would think.

 

By the way, Smudge, seems Steve has taken your comment on his moniker to heart - good choice Steve.
