I am completely lost for words !

 

For once in years I have enjoyed watching Egham!

 

Absolutely crazy !

Is anyone really surprised and I think Tempestward summed it up pretty well. In response to padlock. You are entitled to your opinion but you really need to know how to put it over without showing yourself up to be such an idiot.

Crikey Krooner, twice on the trot you've been nice to me! Padlock, you fecking eejit, did you really think I was going to let the absolutely ridiculous sacking of a bloody fiine manager go without comment? "It's a results business..." By that reckoning every manager who hits a bad patch is due for dismissal. We have won two of our last three games and scored eight goals. We have got on loan (so hopefully he will stay) a really good striker who has two hat-tricks in four games. OK so we were stuck in 7th / 8th this season but in comparison to the seasons before SB joined it is a vast improvement. 13th, 13th and 14th if memory serves, the 14th in the season in which he took over, after we had been dicked in quick succession by Chertsey and Molesey. As I have no clue what sort of team we will have out today, under the aegis of Colin Bartholomew (damned fine man but only, on match days, the man who puts the cones out, as far as I could tell), and even less clue what sort of performance they will come up with at Ash, I expect there to be goals galore, probably in our net. Ash must be rubbing their hands with glee this morning.

 

The Bennetts say they want promotion. I am ambivalent about it, and I am sure I am not alone. The games are nice and local, and even Horley and Wembley are no great problem. The standard of football is sometimes dire, but then Liverpool were crap midweek and they are supposed to be a decent side.

Just quickly Steve, can I suggest you change your user name.

The one thing i have is respect for every manager or coach in this league weather i like them or not because i know

how much hard work they put in and how much it means to to them. So to come on her and mock the fact i a have lost my job

is as low as you can get. Every manager/coach will lose a job at some point and the feeling is gut wrenching.

I hope you find it as funny when your time comes.

I hope your proud of your comments on here !

What a bell end! When I last watched a full season in the CCL, Egham were [****!!****]. In a 'result driven business' they have improved massively. In a twat filled business, the sport is lost and idiots like the Bennetts will stay with Spencer and others of their ilk in the CCL whilst other's pass them bye whilst smiling and waving.

 

No idea who Padlock is and to be perfectly honest couldn't give a rats ass. He is a knob jockey based on what he has posted here.

Thats sad to hear Steve I can't believe the way some managers are being treated as you say your track record at Egham is very good, is there a third party waiting in the wings me thinks ?

Not sure mate but wouldn't be surprised.

If there is then maybe it will start to make sense.

Fecking gutted. Not only has Steve been stitched up, he has been knifed in the back by a chairman who spends most of his time in Portugal. I doubt Pat Bennett has seen more that 10 games all season. His eldest son spends time criticising team selections, and the call I got from his youngest son, Paul, indicated that the fact that some players spat the dummy was attritutable to the now departed manager. I have been, as I have said countless times, with the club (on and off the committee) for over 40 years. Pat Bennett has been the eminence gris since the early 90s when, according to a man who was then the club treasurer, he saved the club from going under. Since then, even despite that great start, I have had more than my fair share of rows with him, and I certainly disagree with him on this.

Under Steve we got an attacking policy that always guaranteed goals. I know we got stuffed a few times but then we adminstered a few beatings too. Steve is an amazing, honest and committed manager and I dread the day we come up against his next team. As for the next man, if he fails to get us to Step 4 in one season he might just as well not bother. Has the Leatherhead manager found a job yet???

 

 

Don't you think you should know all the facts before talking about stitch ups......however much you think you are in the know, believe me you're not.

There is 1 person who knows what this is all about and it's not you so this speculation and dummy spitting is a little mis-guided, no?

Who next then at Egham? Any stand out candidates in CCL? Can't see anyone dropping from Ryman for job.

Seems a very strange sacking, night before a game and just before signing deadline, if there is an exodus of players, not a lot of time to bring in replacements unless as Steve hints a successor was already in place.
