A full and accurate statement is now on the official club website. Your Thanet / Kent News (same organisation) have been inaccurate in their "EXCLUSIVE". As you'll see from the statement, the club had decided not to renew Iain's contract for next season.

Unfortunately, a statement would have been on our website first thing this morning but I was uncontactable - the directors did try (a lot!) to get hold of me to publish the statement. We do remain committed to telling the fans first but on this occasion, it proved impossible to do that.

Have I not been saying that's been my thinking of what might happen for a few weeks, yet I was derided (by some) as some sort of deluded madman who didn't know what he was speaking about!

Clearly! ;)

Well, in a round-a-bout way yes he was.

What I'd also like to add is that as far as I can be aware, none of the directors (or me for that matter) spoke to the media before we got the statement out on the official website.

It's not a shot at anyone - simply to make it clear that we did not seek to tell other press / media before the supporters. Sometimes these things happen in a way you'd rather they didn't.

Also, (no disrespect to the players) why have they put Cloke, Pinno & Wilson in charge of team affairs for the Hendon game. That is a ridiculous decision - Those three by intents and purposes will be on the pitch in your starting XI - I know first hand that you can't manage effectively on the park, that's why player/managers have assistants etc

Hopefully they cant do any worse than the shambles last season, when Keister was put in charge

Perhaps Wellsie could tell us why the club statement implies that IOC walked out because he was told his contract was not being renewed. Sources close to the club have confirmed that he was sacked with "immediate effect". Will IOC be interviewed by Wellsie to tell us how it actually was?
