O'Connell Sacked???????

Twist&Shout

I have heard people say before we have one of the highest wage bills in the league...??

it wouldnt suprise me if some people were earning up to £300 a week! where as some of the young players are probably on as little as £50 a week

There's no way you're telling me some of our 'stars' aren't on decent wages. I'm pretty sure our budget is very competitive for this level.

Pretty sure that a good number of players we have got are on £200 plus a week times that by 11 and you get a rough idea of our budget..... or ... do you - cos JS was on more than £350 plus and a certain number of players (stars) are on the same amount, so given that the starting budget for IOC was £3500 max... you do the Math and add to that PAYE (thats Tax btw) all makes for a lot more than is available to the average manager in BSS let alone Ryman Prem. Sometimes it is easy to slag off what is not tangible and transparrent, however sit back and consider how much you as a fan are prepared to pay to watch a "decent" set of players on HDP. I am not in favour of letting IOC go and want it noted I think the decision was wrong, however I dont pay the wages and dont know "ALL" the facts so therefore I will be attending as a fan of MFC at the next game and every game I can afford to watch until such time as the TDC take our club away from us. :(

Spot on. Unlike some other morons on this forem.

Well 2 of our 'stars' left for Maidstone recently, so there budget must be more competitive than ours.

Stubbsy left for the same money - The reason he left was IOC

NOT TRUE - Stubbs WANTED more money and was demanding more money as is well known by everyone apart from you. Stubbs told anyone who would listen he wanted more money. There was none available. He left, his decision. Now plays nearer home. He asked for more at Maidstone but didn't get it. Get your facts right.

Spot on Gillinghamboy, nothing to do with IOC, just money. Thought he was worth more to MFC. Good to see someone getting facts correct on this forem for a change and not guessing or speculating. If you do not know the FACTS, dont makeout you are an expert.

How do people know what happened with individual players? And why they left?

Do people have connections with the player?

I'm just intrigued because you hear so many stories about why players left, would be good to actually know the truth!

success equals more fans. how many more fans would attend simply for a new manager? Or playing Havant & Waterlooville rather than Hendon? In the league we are in nothing makes much difference. We just have to accept we are not the club we were TEN years ago when we got to the conference national, and slowly build a team ready for success. All this chopping and changing is ridiculous and short sighted.

Can't multiquote with this mobile format - stubbs signed with a 30% pay cut and was told by IOC it would go up to last seasons money. So yes he was asking for more money - the 30% he was promised. So jog on gillsboy and lion and get your facts right :P

Jog on Prids and keep going up the M1 or where ever. Stubbs would say that wouldn't he???? What Stubbs earned in the previous season is irrelevant. He came back from Iceland after the season was well under way and was happy to sign for what he was offered. He wasn't forced to sign but presumably no other Clubs wanted him?? You can't take a pay cut if you are not under contract and on the pay roll. MUMPTY!! Budget restrictions are not down to the Manager surely even Dan can grasp that but obviously not.. Its easier to blame the Manager. He was obviously offered what was in the "kitty". Stubbs choice, his decision and he left. That is how it goes. It is sad Pridds that your personal atttacks on IOC continue. Can't help but wonder what is behind it all Your fixation is abnormal.

Its a lack of passion from certain supporters staying at home that dosen't help matters.Hey, O'Connells departure could even be down to them if you think about it.

Maybe this post was aimed at me due to it being made shortly after my post, although i'm sure you include many fans in your statement but i'm not buying that for one minute.

If IOC had produced a team that was playing semi-attractive football with regards to the level of players we have, then perhaps and like you i'm only surmising, but maybe the stay away fans wouldn't be staying away?.

IOC has constantly suggested that we have a decent team and should be pushing for the play offs/getting better results than we are, but the simple truth is we're not and I refuse to believe that this has anything to do with ME or any other fan who chooses for whatever reason to not attend a match.

For the record work permitting I will be at the next home match.

Hi Benjamin.

I didn't pinpoint any particular person with my post, however,if you indeed are one of a few that only comes along only we are playing well or only when we are getting good results & are only top of the league then yes it is aimed at you,but amongst others. Others that I know personally whom I have seen come along on a regular basis in the past. I am very very disappointed with these people.

We all want to see good football & positive results but in times that are not so good & especially in those times we should all make an extra effort to turn up if we indeed we are able to. Those 500 + crowds need to be re-established if we are to go forward & people that are staying away can make a big difference if they returned & returned again so that that can be achieved. Success on the pitch will follow.
