Essex senior cup final

I see that this years Essex Senior Cup final is to be played at Thurrock Fc between Aveley and Billericay

Pretty glad we are not in the final to be honest as I can't imagine a worse place to play a supposedly county premier cup competition.

Still,should ensure aveley have a decent following at the game being half a mile from their doorstep

IMO Thurrock have a cracking little ground, and its arguably the best non league ground in Essex.

Agree with you about not being in the final though, as a play off place is much more important.

They do have a fairly decent ground - their training facilities are second to none

The final should be at southend,Colchester or dagenham as they are league grounds.If we are going to enter this competition,which means putting off league games and affecting many teams league campaigns then at least play the final at a league ground

I agree with Eastside on this. Colchester have a fabulous new ground yet the final is still played at non-league facilities. Regardless of how good Thurrock is at this level, Colchester would be a good carrot to dangle.

I am with Burgess here. Thurrock is ok and is a well appointed ground for the level they are at, but it is not the most atmospheric of places and I also think that the Final should always be held at a League Ground really.

Seems they tried for Upminster Park but got turned down so that's why it's at Thurrock

Well let's face it,the final was played at ours last year,pretty much no chance of billericay getting the final,especially with the cesspit that is their pitch
