Well done South Park and a big congratulations to Ricky Kidd who was instrumental in getting all this started 4/5 seasons ago, now go on and clinch promotion too. The tremendous work put in at South Park since you've entered the CCL merits your chance in the premier, good luck

I'm not going to make many friends for this but although I offer congrats to South Park they were very fortunate.

 

The ref did not help, he was awful for both sides.The Dons keeper should have got a red card, for instance, but South Park were lucky to finish with 10 men. And their No6 was a disgrace at the speed he got up after the ref sent of the Dons player.

 

The main 90 mins were fairly even but Dons took complete control in extra time and were the only team that actually tried to pass.

The high defensive line meant all South Park did was long ball down the middle, virtually every single time. Barely an attempt to do anything different.#

Without Rhino in goal it could have been totally different scoreline.

Still, congrats and good luck for the future.

Disappointed for Dons, but must say well done to South Park and pleased for Molly to be able to lift the cup.

 

Was a poor first half where nothing much happened. Second half much better and it looked like Park would cling on to their lead, with Dons piling on the pressure at the end. Must have been the 89th minute when a corner came over and the little right back (JJ, used to be at Horley I think?) handled. Red card and penalty converted by Billy Hussey. So extra time (joy!). Park won a penalty which was hit wide of the goal. Dons had much of the play in extra time, but their fate was cruelly sealed right at the end when a cross was turned in his own goal by the Dons defender to spare us a penalty shoot out.

Great win for South Park. Went to the match and felt they were lucky but sometimes you need luck.

 

One thing that let them down - the captain. Does he always whinge and moan his way through games? And why is he the captain? He stands out as being the weak link - bit of a tool I think!

 

Still, he won't care tonight.

T.R.S. nice to see you there filming,be interesting to see the video of J.J.s alledged handball on the line,he and his mum were adamant it hit his chest.The REF was an utter disgrace,14 yellows and 2 Reds = £230,think he ran out of ink or notepaper to send the Wimbledon keeper OFF after he took out the South Park striker.Dave Jones was the Refs name if he comes to a ground near you BEWARE.

Thought the Ref was ok. I thought it was a pen and dont think the keeper should have gone either

To be fair to the ref, he did consult his assistant before deciding on red or yellow for Dons keeper. Nice to chat tonight Smudge. I could hear you over the other side of the ground in the second half :)

 

Think the ref was being assessed.

Jertzee suggest you get round to specsavers in the Morning,did South Park not have 2 great one on ones,and a Penalty.Yes James Wastell did make 2 great saves late on to save the game for South Park.A.F.C. have some technically gifted players on the ball 7,9,11,come to mind,but until they learn that all the tricks in the world do not win you games,and passing and shooting does,they will not progress.WELL DONE SOUTH PARK TOTALLY DESERVED VICTORY.SMUDGEY'S MAN OF THE MATCH:-ALL THE SOUTH PARK LADS WHO GAVE THEIR ALL FOR THE CAUSE.YOU DID C.C.L. FOOTBALL PROUD.Nice to meet Parklife as well,did not see any other Forumites there,POOR SHOW FELLAS.

Fantastic result on a night for the underdogs - well done South Park excited.gif

 

A.F.C lost G.F. they were the underdogs in my book.

 

Sorry Smudge - I based my judgement on any team that can beat Weebles lads must be top notch - only just seen his other post that says they (AFC) put out a different team midweeks. Sort of AFC Reserves Reserves. Looks like both they and Farleigh need better strength in depth wink.gif

Congrats to South Park and Molly.

 

Perhaps we can have a thread that just congrats South Park on winning instead of moan this and moan that. Interesting that a neutral there thought the ref had a fair game.

 

Hope to see South Park in the Premier Division. Be good to have another progressive club up in the Prem and it is looking like a few more will follow in the next few seasons.
