Captains

If the keeper is captain I'll ask him to nominate someone to be 'outfield captain', as otherwise it can be really awkward.

you can't choose who's captain mate................................

Pretty much agree with above but I always found the proactive captains would approach you if you were looking to talk to a player re challenge or dissent and they were the best ones.

Did once have a keeper as a skipper who was a complete PITA for about 70 minutes. His forward then had a pop in the oppo penalty area and I called him to one side and asked the skipper to join me. Bit of a risk and got a laugh from the keeper who trotted about 100 yards for me to say keep yourself calm No 9 no need to get a silly caution. And off the keeper went back for another 100 yard trot with me hurrying up so I could start the game. Risky but worked well :)

MEWEY when i have been involved, our keeper was captain. and we would not allow him to nominate. we made him captain for a purpose. he was responsible for all,on the pitch decisions. bit like players telling a ref, that the lino gave a differnt decision. there has to be 1 person in control.coffee%20%282%29.gif

Fitness levels probably TF. Less time wasted getting the GK to trot 200 yards than Krooner to waddle 100 wink.gif

Normally Fan I wouldnt have bothered asking him to do it but he had shown me virtually no respect all game so I showed him similar and as it happened we had a good laugh about it afterwards. In most cases with GKs as captains if it was not practical to have them present I would speak with them next time I was down their end.

You know me too well GF :)

Sorry Jr shouldnt you be writing up the match report from last night ;)

Not my job this week. Dorking Advertiser reporter was in attendance, unfortunately !

Actually - Lee's report isn't as bad as it could have been. At least it didn't make the back page of the Ad. That was all Leatherhead FC and their current managerial position. (sniggers into coffee !!) cheesy%20(2).gif
