Burger League Part 2

Been a bit slack on this but after 3 more away games I feel that the rating war is hotting up.

Right well, I can't rate the Kingstonian burger because of my river trip on the Woolwich ferry got me there just in time for the second half. I had a bacon roll, which was just like any ordinary bacon roll. Tasty, hit the spot (especially after a nightmare journey) but on reflection, ordinary.

Beford Cheese burger was tasty and better than the last one I tasted there two seasons ago. Again hit the spot after the journey but again on reflection, the bun let it down. Crumbly and dry.Chips were okay. I will say the tea hut is worth a visit as they do sweets, cakes, soup and tea and various other no hot food bevergaes. Also penny sweets (remember them) that are quite probably 10p now. I had the bread pudding with my half time tea and would say, not as immpresive as Bognors in size (earlier report) but still worthy of the mention.

Ford Cheese Burger. A simple burger but tasty all the same (hang on, I've said they're all tasty - hmmmmm, well for different reasons). I thought this one was the best of the ones I have tasted this season. It was full of flavour and I was going to have another but stopped myself by looking down at my growing gut!!! The chips, so I'm told, were cold. And we were served by people that smiled which, in rememberance of our last visit was a surprise as the people serving then were as miserable as sin.

So, the league so far. Well, Ford's burger does it. In at No. 1 with the Aylesbury at No. 2. I've re thought the Bognor effort and I know I put it there at No. 1 on my last report, it was more in surprise of the Bread Pudding and therefore at the top spot by default really. The table looks like this

1 Ford

2 Aylesbury

3 Bedford

4 Bognor

5 Kingstonian.

Footie fare to look forward to, well...the mega Braintree all in one (that is egg, cheese, bacon burger), very tasty last season and well looking forward to that (if they still do it and I can't see why not as they are a bunch of farmers) and then Bishops Stortford (needs to improve from last seasons from what I remember to hit the top 5).

I know we are away to Hornchurch on the Saturday 27th but that is for a Cup game and the burger league is for league games only and the rating will have to wait for when we play 'em later in the season (although I may make some comment on the forum).

Ahhhhh, with all this grub talk I'm feeling peckish now. I should really do a Good Beer Guide at the grounds...........
