What a difference!

Recommended Posts

What a difference a win makes, just watching todays win over promotion chasers Bedfont just gave me and the whole club, the hunger and belief again that on our day we can beat and compete with the best. Maybe because it was a derby and our rivals but it wasn't a Lammas team that I haven't seen since the beginning of the season, Hunger, Pride, Belief was all there today and I believe we proved some critics wrong including myself. We won in all areas of the pitch today, back four was solid, Baldock and Hadley up top worked superbly and the managements encouragement was second to none.

Wat a difference a win makes!!!

Up the lammas!!

hayes got beat 9-1 . why do you think they could not get a team out. weebs you have been in football long enough to know, some of what NG points out is true. there are always exceptions. coffee%20%282%29.gif

Hayes have struggled all season to get a team out so although I understand some of the points put on here I feel that players let their managers, supporters, team mates and themselves down if they do not try. When they have retired or cannot play at any level through injury ( like myself total knee replacement ) they will look back and wish they had done more.

THANK YOU TF,

ITS JUST NICK PICKING AS THERE WILL ALWAYS BE GAMES WHERE A MID-TABLE TEAM WILL BEAT A TOP TEAM ESPECIALLY A LOCAL DERBY AT THIS TIME OF SEASON, BUT I STAND BY MY COMMENTS AND THE HONEST PLAYERS WILL KNOW WHAT I MEAN........... EH ANIMAL !

NG, no-one doubts that some teams have little to play for other than pride at this time of the season and players in those teams might not give of their best for 90 minutes. However there is next to no support on here from players, managers or casual supporters for an extra competition to see who the best of the also rans is. That competitive edge will only happen if genuine play-off places were up for grabs - and only a few teams (probably the same teams that still have a chance to win the League anyway) would be incentivised. The chances of genuine play-offs at Step 5? - zero under current FA pyramid criteria. coffee%20(2).gif

I THINK WE MAY HAVE COME TO THE END OF THIS DEBATE. I THINK THE ONLY THING THAT N G DID WAS TO MENTION A CUP, IT SEEMS WE ALL AGREE THAT AT TIMES TEAMS LOOSE INTEREST. AND THE PAYING FAN IS CHEATED.

would also like to know what is going on at the gate , i understand teams on occasion struggle to field a team ,but i have seen them on 2 occasions this year and have pretty much 2 completely different sides out on both occasions. this could be accepted at sunday league but can it be at step 6?

think this is why we love football as anything can happen and things can turn around so quickly ie farnham looked like they had 1 foot in the prem around 2 weeks ago, the div 1 title race has been blown open in the last 2-3 weeks , the gate were apparently going to take the league by storm and now can barely get a team together,.

HAS THE NERVES AND PRESSURE BEING TOP WITH CHASERS AFTER YOU TAKEN ITS TOLL ON FARNHAM PERHAPS........BBM ?

THE GATE HAS YET TO REPLY, BUT AGAIN GOING BACK TO WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING HAYES GATE CHAMPIONS ELECT IN AUGUST ARE STRUGGLING 'COS AS THEY SEEM SAFE FROM RELEGATION THE PLAYERS ARE NOT INTERESTED AS THEY HAVE NOTHING TO PLAY FOR......IN MY OPINION !.

You seem to go back to this point a lot atm NG!

We all get your point and whilst some will agree and some won't, there is no real need to constantly mention it as I think as a forum we get where you are coming from :wall:

Can you not come up with something new as it's a little bit like groundhog day atm........

the gate may have come and gone like many players at club. as i have noticed on this site, many people talk a good game. but when you see them in the flesh. you are a bit disapointed.coffee%20%282%29.gif

N.G, its up to the managers to pull the people who are not giving their all and unload them I think you might be mistaken for weakened teams rather than people not trying, after all as a manager if you can't go up or down its time to blood new faces I know this is what we are doing at Cove,This is why we are very incosistent at the moment but it all bodes well for the future of the Club if we can introduce these lads to senior football now.A couple of our new lads are only 16 but they are loving playing in the 1st team and are doing very well.
